I was debating a lot about when I would be doing this song. I knew I was going to eventually, but the time never felt right to do it. However. His expected discharge date is Christmas 2025, and this is a good present for me, so I'm doing this for Christmas 2024, when he has one year left. This was his "Goodbye, I'll see you when I'm finished" present to the LOVEs and the Hwangdos. I trust that he's doing well, and that he's doing his job well because I can't see him doing anything without exceptional dedication. Just ask the abalones he was asked to clean back in 2019 during some cooking content they did. I have other reviews I need to be doing, but I need to mark the one year left for him and this is a good excuse considering that.
Okay, I've delayed this enough. This is another one of those songs that I desperately wish I could have just the instrumental for. Between the piano and the strings, it hits every part of my brain that wants this kind of soothing, and they're absolutely gorgeous. The way they were work together absolutely turns this song into a lullaby, which means it's very appropriately named. Starting off with simply the piano means that it's very simple, but poignant. The first instrument to be added after the piano-filled beginning is a cello of all things, so the representation there is great. And the best part is the song ends with his voice acapella.
Minhyun has the sweetest voice, and it is so suited to a lullaby, it's not even funny. The discrepancy between his high singing voice and his low speaking voice never fails to amuse me. I normally would think that it would be difficult to be performed with choreography, but I don't think this is meant to be a choreography-attached song. It wasn't when he performed it on MCountdown. Still, it's very high, and I do have to worry a little bit for his general condition with it just because of how high it is.
It's just Minhyun at a bus stop, and then he leaves. There's a metaphor there. Still didn't manage to avoid crying watching it this time. It's fine. Minhyun's visuals absolutely are not a joke, and we'll see him when he gets back.
One more year, Minhyun. Stay safe.
