Just A Little Fangirl Love

 I went back to the roulette wheel for this one because I figure that I can stray again from what I'm familiar with, and instead it gave me the first song I started listening to by MAMAMOO and the reason I continued listening to them. 6000 songs, at least a third of which I've never heard before. And yet, ironically, it's a song called "Destiny" that chaos decided for me. What's even funnier about this is the last song I did was by their younger brothers, who debuted the year this came out. Ah, I'm excited for you to hear this one if you haven't already. MAMAMOO is a four member girl group that debuted in 2014 under RBW. They're known for industry defying behavior (especially when told not to do something), insane vocals, and a level of chaos that has caused them to be called the female BTOB (and BTOB gets called the male MAMAMOO, which is accurate and funny). Also, Changsub and Solar are besties and she's about two days older. Or a day older. ...

 Coming to you from The Form, this one has been on the list for a while, but I was waiting for a good spot for them. With them having left YGE after eleven years, and with the recent batch of these fun little posts, this one feels like a good spot. I haven't heard this one, so I don't know how the communication between those songs is going to work, because while I'd like to say there's no rhyme or reason to these other than "Look at how amazing these songs are", I cannot help but try to build them like chapters in a book with a logical flow of events so that you the reader do not get overwhelmed by having too much of the same thing for too long. I didn't get anything other than the song from whoever submitted this one, but that's okay! I'll just go with what I can find and what I think is cool.  The turnaround on this one is really fast because it was submitted Wednesday night in The Form and in order to fulfill the request, I had to pivot from the post I had started working on (first gen girl group, the song is the bomb...pun slightly intended) and start on this one. But that was good timing and gave me plenty of time. Four days was enough. The submitter asked me to do this one because of the ticket sales for the tour that started to celebrate those who got tickets and to comfort those who didn't. Which is a lot to ask of a song, a lot of pressure for me, and I hope that I can do this justice. But it's really heartwarming that the Army submitted it for everyone. That's really sweet.  I wanted my last "normal" (ish) post of the year to be a Battle of the B-Sides, before I start hitting the December wrap-up and the year recap hard, to be appropriate for going into the new year. There were a couple of things I was thinking about for it. For my last Greatest Hits of 2025, I did a big hitter in the form of IVE from The Form and that had me thinking about this last post. Do I do one of my top three groups? Do I do an old group? Do I match it in energy? Do I soften it a bit? Higher energy? Do I do a more obscure group or do I do one of the big hitters? Do I grab something from The Form as well, or do I do something that I pick? The answer to all of these questions: my drafts.  So this lovely group, originally named IN2IT, left their company after a little over two years, founded their own company, and are now going by the name Skye as of 2023. So, yes, technically IN2IT is disbanded, but it's more of a B2ST/Highlight situation. I also found out that they did a cover of SHINee's An Encore  a few months ago, which delights me to no end because that's my favorite SHINee song, and they did a great job. This one was also recommended to me, and because I've never heard of this group before, I'm genuinely delighted by the idea that I get to cover a group I haven't heard of. This is the second time that fromis_9 has left a company, and while part of me is sad about this, I'm wishing them well in their future endeavors and hope they can find a new home that will treat them well and as they deserve. So, in honor of this, I'm going to go back to 2019 shortly after debut when they were still at their first company and their single, FUN FACTORY, and one of the b-sides contained therein.  This is a song sung by only two of the members, Jiwon and Hayoung, but they also have credits as the writers! The talent! It's such a pretty song. Also, their composing composing team is called "Dam-Dam," which I also think is kind of cute, and this was the first song that they did together.  Did I review two A.C.E songs in the same period? Yes. But this one was a request against some Savage  slander my Choice friend saw online, and there's absolutely no way I'm going to turn down a chance for an A.C.E song. Their voices are beyond incredible. I need them to come back here so I can go see them and get more time listening to those gorgeous, gorgeous voices. In the meantime, I've got their discography and the plethora of covers they've done over the last seven years. They still don't have a win, and that feels criminal. Anyway, this was the second track on the mini album, and its lyricist (VED) basically only wrote this song and another A.C.E song. The composer (MADFRESH) has a few more songs under their belt, but again, those songs are almost entirely A.C.E songs.
