He was fifteen at debut, which unfortunately puts the group in Underage Protocol. Although he is currently sixteen, so if you're not quite as stubborn as I am and sixteen is your only hard limit, the group is good to go for you now. The group being in Underage Protocol does not change the fact that I have several of their songs sitting waiting in the playlist I have for songs by groups I can't listen to yet.  If this instrumental was slightly more acoustic, we'd have a country song on our hands.  I was so busy this month. Y'all. I didn't do a ton of the reviews, which is coming back to bite me in the butt now that I'm trying to get my year end post worked on. It's fine. Past Fangirl hates Future Fangirl, and it's completely fine.  July debuts! I only did a single review for a debut group this month, and it was for AHOF , who has been doing quite well for a rookie group. I may get 1verse reviewed because I still feel guilty about not reviewing them. Debuts I didn't cover: CrazAngel (girl group), Tomatomat (girl group), 1verse (boy group), 4X4 (girl group) and SEVENTOEIGHT  (boy group).   Big Ocean JJ (subunit of Big Ocean) also debuted.   Am I quite disappointed? Yes. But, even being a xikers fan, I'm happy for AHOF for their win. Still! It's not over! I trust that they'll eventually get a win (what I am counting as a win is Wrecking the House being #16 on Billboard, so there's that). Congrats to &TEAM, NMIXX, and AHOF for their music show wins this week!! I feel so bad for the rookie and small groups for this loss. Moving forward, I may include winners from random episodes, because until something replaces the program, I'm going to quietly protest its cancelation and the effect it's going to have. This week's re-run is ep. 468 from 2021 featuring a former Wanna One member (eldest and leader) and part of the cast list for one of my favorite kdramas, Let Me Be Your Knight . So I'm in a little bit of a weird spot with my personally feelings. Still. Just in case AHOF wins, which would be a huge congratulations for them, I'm going to make sure to get this one out so I'm not scrambling later. An almost four minute song. Perfect. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this. Actually, there isn't a single song that's under three minutes here. Warms my little heart. They went for something very soft, comparatively speaking. We get the range, though, from the soft hug at the beginning, a point in the middle, and then towards the end to the softer rock. It's a gorgeous blend.   It's not a whole lot of variation this week, which is a little unfortunate. I'd prefer to have more, you know? On the other hand, I am pretty amused that all the wins this week came from groups at the very start of the alphabet. It's cute, and a little funny. aespa is also the only one of the bunch that isn't a rookie anymore, which is always good to see. The rookie groups need the love, attention, and wins to survive. The other interesting thing is that both of those rookie groups are project groups from survival shows. (Love you, Woongki, I hope this group does better for you...)   Welcome to the third quarter of 2025, everyone! I almost typed 2015, so if anyone wants to know how I'm doing, that's how I'm doing. Hilariously, this week also features a whole bunch of first wins for songs (and possibly two first wins for groups), as well as three of the four categories of K-Pop artists. We've got boy group covered. We've got girl group covered. But you know what I find the most delightful? A co-ed group is covered. They used to be a lot more common, so any new ones, I'm generally supportive of on principle, though restrictions may apply.
