Song Review:: AMPERS&ONE: LOUD & PROUD- 그게 그거지 (That's That)

Image
Release date: 2025 August 12 Album tracklist:  That's That , Seesaw, Get Famous, Move Out, Did It, I'm Down Album runtime: 17 minutes  Weekends are a good time for me to try to catch back up now that I find myself with some motivation again. Whoo. And this is the group that has all the interesting names for the members. I don't listen to these guys a ton in general, for no other reason than there are so many groups out there that I don't have time to listen to all of them, though I do have a couple that are regular listeners. And even though the album length is less than ideal, the title track is a good length. I'm actually quite fond of the combination of trap and saxophone I'm hearing, assuming that is a saxophone. It doesn't come up very often, and I'm often distracted by other things when it does show up, so I'm not positive, but that's what it sounds like. We don't hear saxophones very often, but at the same time, just having the combina...

Song Review:: AMPERS&ONE:: WILD & FREE- Kick Start

Image
Release date: 2025 April 08 Album tracklist: Kick Start , My Mistake, Who Are you, I Know You, Knock Knock, WYD Album runtime: 17 minutes  Do I listen to this group a lot? No. Am I still somewhat fond of the group? Yes. They were on Boys Planet and it's been delightful seeing the former trainees debut and grow as artists. Also, I love their names. They make me smile. I did take a brief look at the maknae's age just to double check, and he turned eighteen last year, so it's all good. For the runtime, the title track is barely over three minutes, but it is over three minutes, so that's fine. And all the songs are hovering near the three minute mark if they're shorter than that, but there are enough that are under that, combined with the ones that are over being barely over, result in a runtime that I refuse to round up to eighteen minutes because it feels disingenuous even though technically it would. I'm struggling a little with this song. It's a solid song. ...

Song Review:: AMPERS&ONE: ONE QUESTION- He + She = We

Image
Release date: 2024 October 22 Album tracklist:  He + She = We , Calling You Back, Slide, Whip It, Over the Moon, Fly Album runtime: 17 minutes  I feel like I know which company this group belongs to, but I cannot place it off the top of my head. But I'm also pretty sure that they're a fairly recent debut, so as my standard operating procedure goes, one quick sniff to look at their ages (and to take a look at their company as well as a bonus so that doesn't bother me all day), and I knew  I knew which company they were at! They're at FNC with F.T. Island and SF9! Also they all are eighteen or older as of this year! Excellent! On with the program! The runtime is uncomfy, and there are only two songs which are over three minutes. This does not include the title track. Okay. We're starting off acapella. That's interesting to hear and not typical. Hello there, energetic funk. I have to say, the trumpet was an excellent addition to the instrumentals. Really lends the ...
