I have continued hope that his voice continues to be highlighted as well as it should be. This instrumental is very much guitar heavy, which is fine because it feels like the guitar has been plucked instead of strummed for the most part, which is surprising and a little big delightful, not going to lie. We also get a little bit of a camera flash sound effect, but largely what's going on with this song is a melody in the instrumental, and given my love for melodies, that's something I'm fully supportive of. Wow, his voice just starts right in there, doesn't it. He's a bit on the breathy side at the start, but he's got moments when that strengthens up well, and we've also got a very fun run to pair up with his vibrato. Crazy, huh? It does make me wonder a little bit about the current status of B.D.U though, because, well, I have loved what they've done so far. Still, Jay's vocals are phenomenal and this is what I'm here for. I'm glad I decided to check one more time. There's the most fascinating pause right before that burst into the chorus, like the song is charging up. The verses are soft and almost mournful, but the contrast between them and the chorus is exactly the kind of thing I like because of the difference in texture. We've got the slow coil and then the pounce. It's really just so well done, it's also pretty delightful to have the song soften right at the end, before the instrumental ends and we're left with his voice. It's a great way to end the song. Aespa got the triple crown on Inkigayo this week! ATEEZ and WayV got their first wins with their new songs. There were no performances on either Show Champion, nor MCountdown, nor were there any wins for either program. Jay spent a lot of time singing on ASC, and there wasn't an MC Challenge, which I'd be upset about, but he sang so much that I can't be upset. Also, he did a quick cover of Mariah Carey's Christmas song, and his vocal runs and the quality of his tone just makes me melt a little inside.  Just as a reminder, the links in the chart go to my reviews, and the link down on ASC is for the full hour program. Although, after seeing Bitsaeon with his group for the single, I'm a little concerned for B.D.U, not going to lie, and more concerned upon learning that Jay is doing a solo thing across the US.
