Just A Little Fangirl Love

And the music shows are officially back with new episodes, which means new stages and new wins! Whoop whoop! Although there's only actually one song on this list of wins that is a new release. Some of them on here are months old, which is kind of fantastic. I expect to see newer songs moving forward, but for now, this is a good last hurrah for some of them. Unless they get more wins. For the After School Club performance, I've picked EVERGLOW, ep. 475 from 2021. The vocals on those members. Whoo. They're also delightfully chaotic and I was entertained watching them (also, they got a win for this song on The Show, which continues to prove my point). For the past The Show stage, I picked one for WEi. And while I normally would have picked another stage from one of the shows this week, last week while I was wandering around looking for stages, I found this one from ATEEZ's debut song after I'd already picked one for last week. So, I put that one for this week, which ...

Okay, everyone! Last one of the year! Whoo! Let's finish this off strong. Since it's likely that everyone will be reading this after we've hit the new year, no matter where we are, I'm just going to say Happy New Year! May your days be merry and bright! Make sure that you drink enough water and get enough sunlight! Unless, of course, you live somewhere that doesn't have a lot of sunlight right now, in which case, make sure you get your recommended dose of vitamin D to help compensate for that since your natural synthesis is more or less offline right now. Okay, December debuts! I actually covered four soloists who debuted this month. We had Yim Siwan from ZE:A, Chuei Li Yu , Choi Sungyun from Golden Child, and Lee Sungyeol from INFINITE. I have no idea who else debuted as soloists, but I'm delighted to share these guys. Groups that debuted are MEP-C (a multinational girl group) and BEWAVE - Jiun & Yunseul (BEWAVE subunit that tells me I need to add ano...

Release date: 2025 December 30 Album tracklist: Bad Idea, UFO (ATTENT!ION) , Delulu Solulu, Hard to Love, SAY MY NAME Album runtime: 14 minutes  This set of song titles brings me so much joy. First of all, the title track? I think that's actually a password, and I love that. I also am wholly in love with the song title "Delulu Solulu". Plus, this feels like an important note, we've had a new member added to the group since the last time I wrote something for this group, and  she is not a minor. I still can't listen to them because the maknae is fifteen, but, you know. One day she won't be and hopefully the company won't debut someone that young again. But in the meantime, their reviews are on Underage Review, and I have a playlist just for songs I can't listen to yet but that I like. That opening has no business going as hard as it does. They're ending the year with rock, and it's glorious. I'm actually kind of sad that I can't listen t...

Release date: 2025 March 13 Album track list: XOXO; 1,2,3,4; ShaLala ; For My Dream; He told me Album runtime: 16 mi nutes  This group debuted in October 2024 with their maknae having just turned fourteen. She's still fourteen. I'm still deeply opposed to this, so we're running my Underage Protocol. Also, it looks like they're keeping up with the cat concept, and I remember thinking the music video was very clever in that regards. Good news, the average is over three minutes a song, so at least it has that going for it. And I love that the names of the albums are on brand as well. So the song is ballad-esque with soft piano and a dreamy synth, both of which nudge the song towards the prevailing trend, but there's something about it that's a little grounding. I don't think it's the percussion, because it's very gently and a little skittery, but it's a little more grounded. We also get some nice, unexpected water droplet sound effects in the latte...

With Seventeen out of the country, it's nigh impossible for them to film for these episodes of the music shows. And with R os é not exactly being able to promote with Bruno Mars on the music shows, actual performances of that one are few and far between. The struggle is real, my friends. On the bright side, The Show is finally back up again, so I get to include those wins starting now. And I appreciate this one because we got some variety to this week's wins. On the other hand, the SAY MY NAME members are kind of funny. Show Champion!: Seventeen "Love, Money, Fame" (note: Seventeen was out of the country for their tour, and I'm using the MCountdown performance here because they didn't win on MCountdown) MCountdown: Ro s é  x Bruno Mars "APT." (Note: I haven't seen her performing it anywhere. So...have the one from Bruno Mars's YouTube channel) Music Bank: Seventeen "Love, Money, Fame" (Note: They're not in the country, so this...

Release date: 2024 October 16 Album tracklist: Be a Star, WaveWay, 8llowme, Goldilocks Water Album runtime: 12 minutes  Straight up, it is not okay that this group is debuting with an actual child. The maknae turned fourteen (14) less than a month ago. Did she become a trainee at the same age G-Dragon did? And there's three years between her and the next one, and almost a decade between her and the leader. If she's this talented and skilled, imagine what she'd be after another four years of training! All of this to say, I don't care how much I may like the group from this song. I'm not listening to them recreationally until they're all adults. So this review will only use two listens to just the song, once for the instrumentals and once for the vocals. Then, at most twice for the music video segment.  I'd love to say I'm impartial, but I'm obviously not. Fourteen-year-olds should not have jobs like this. But that's a discussion for another day. ...
