Just A Little Fangirl Love

Did y'all know I've written over 1200 posts now? And that's not counting the drafts of the reviews I've got sitting to be typed up. Those are just the ones that have actually been posted. I'm super behind on literally everything to do with this blog. But it's fine. June was a good month. Debuts! Debuts I covered were: NXON , Keyveatz , and V8 (Seventeen) . The ones I did not were HAT:Q , B.YOUR SIDE , A-1000 , for groups, HyunHaYo (Treasure) for a sub-unit, and some of the soloists were Renjun (NCT) , Evan (Enhypen) ,  Lee Jae Wook , Kaina , and Kim Dong Geum . I'd just like to point out Lee Jae Wook, because he is of course the lead actor for Alchemy of Souls , which is, of course, the reason that I'm sitting here writing these words in my present and you're sitting or standing or laying there reading these words in your present.  Songs I was looking forward to: SHINee: I love that even though they're not the most active of groups these days, ...

Yes. Hello. Still very behind. Have some stages.  All links below in the spreadsheet go to my reviews of the songs. Have fun!   I'm done with the regular internet for the day because I just discovered the existence of a centipede large enough that, despite being a video, almost sent me up the back of the couch to live there. There are very, very few things that actually scare me. So, hi. I'm going to do this instead. Good motivation. Also, I love that RESCENE has now gotten wins for their debut song. I love that for them. As always, the links in the spreadsheet go to my reviews. Show Champion: Red Velvet "Surfin' Boy" MCountdown: Stray Kids "THIS & THAT" Music Bank: Stray Kids "THIS & THAT" Show! Release date: 2026 August 07 Album tracklist: RUN IT , THIS & THAT , After You, FARMING , I Do, Way Out, Back Then, This & That - (Festival Version) Album runtime: 25 minutes  Wow, I've managed to be so late in doing this one that they've dropped another single. I'm just perpetually behind. It's fine. I'm telling you, every time I'm not immediately enamoured with a title track of theirs, the b-sides hit me in the brain perfectly. Most of this song is balanced in such a way that the verses have a song instrumental, so the vocals don't have sound competition, the chorus gets a big burst followed by an even bigger burst. And it's very well-balanced. But then, there's a late stage complete tonal shift that sounds nothing like the rest of the song. That's where we get the experimental, Stray Kids patented noise music. It's brief and discordant and I find it very charming because it's brief. This works as a b-side very well. I think eve...

Release date: 2026 August 07 Album tracklist: RUN IT , THIS & THAT , After You , FARMING, I Do , Way Out, Back Then, This & That - (Festival Version) Album runtime: 25 minutes  Look at all the capital letters. I know that you all can't see my handwriting because you're reading it on a screen and not in the notebook I first wrote this review in, but yikes. Ooh, maybe that's what I'll do as part of the year-end wrap-up: I'll take some pictures of these reviews and post them. I have no idea if anyone will care, but I like behind the scenes stuff so maybe someone else will too. Anyway, happy birthday, Changbin! You're the big 2-7, so enjoy your twenties while they last! It's interesting that THIS & THAT and RUN IT are tied for streams right now. Also, I'd like to point out the run time. That's right. This is the first album I've reviewed in a while where not only is the title track over three minutes long, but so is the average runtime of...

Release date: 2026 August 07 Album tracklist: RUN IT, THIS & THAT , After You , FARMING , I Do, Way Out, Back Then, This & That - (Festival Version) Album runtime: 25 minutes  Look at all the capital letters. We've got a little over a month and a half before the album is going to be released, and between now and then, their next tour is starting. Seungmin, I hope you're well by then. Chan, you'd better have that surgery before then. The timing of the tour feels very rushed, but there is a looming e-word sitting over Lee Know's head dropping closer every day, so despite how ridiculous the schedule is, before we find out what that is going to look like for Stray Kids, I'm willing to chalk it up to them trying to get one last tour in before that all begins. The runtime on this one has me very hopeful for the rest of the album's runtime. Fingers crossed. Y'all know I'm down for brass instruments. As fierce and dramatic as this instrumental is, and it...

Release date: 2026 March 25 Album track list:  별, 빛 (STAY) Album runtime: 3 mi nutes  How late am I with this? I've heard bits and pieces already, but I'm excited to be stabbed in the chest with the feels from the song as a whole. This is really short because for some reason I have all the attention for writing reviews right now. Why? No idea, but I'm taking advantage. I also don't know why I'm still awake at 12:30 in the morning, but here we are.  This is actually a fairly sedate instrumental, but feistier than some of their other soft fan songs (I'm looking at you, Youtiful , the song I've only just started listening to again after it was involved in both of my car accidents). There's so much piano to this song. It's really the dominant instrument, which is surprising because it's been a minute since we've gotten a song that is so heavily piano-based. I say that, but also there's kind of a sick, almost guitar solo that lets the song kic...

So I realized while I was writing the previous post (link down at the bottom) that their anniversary was actually on a Wednesday, which is one of the two days that I try to post on. But I had a plan and I wanted to follow the plan, and while I was making said plan, I temporarily forgot what day they debuted, which is silly because it's ten days after NU'EST. Also, this was a request from my Stay friend...quite a bit ago, but because of MEGAVERSE , I wanted to spread out the Stray Kids posts a bit, which is why this has taken me so long (I apologized when we went to Hannah's concert together). I feel like I've heard this song before, but I can't recall what it sounds like by the name. Also, I'm taking a break from the planning and going wild and random for April, so unless someone has a time specific post for me to do (like an anniversary or birthday or other celebration of some sort), I have no idea what you're getting for April nor what I get to do. It...

So, as with the other award show posts, my comments will be found down below, after the performances and the winners. I know. It's me, and I like to ramble, but for these, I'm giving you the stuff you're more likely to be interested in first, and then if you want my rambles, they're at the bottom.  Anyway, enjoy the performances and congrats to the winners! I'm only listing the music related winners, with two exceptions. performances AHOF ( Rendezvous ) ALLDAY PROJECT ( FAMOUS + ONE MORE TIME ) ASH ISLAND (Don't go + OST) ATEEZ (Man on Fire + Dance Break + In Your Fantasy ) Cortis ( GO! + What You Want ) Cravity (Intro + Lemonade Fever ) IVE ( XOXZ + ATTTUDE + 삐빅 (♥beats) + REBEL HEART ) JJ Lin (Bedroom + 修煉愛情+背對背擁抱 (with WOODZ)) KickFlip (Intro (특이점) + My First Love Song ) KiiiKiii (Intro + I DO ME ) Kiss of Life (Maestro of My Heart + Lucky ) Leejunyoung (BOUNCE + BACK) LE SSERAFIM (Born Fire + Ash + HOT ) MEOVV ( BURNING UP + HANDS UP ) Monsta X (Tress...

Y'all, I am so stoked about this batch of wins. That's my girl right there! Congrats to everyone else on their wins! Sorry for the lack of energy in this. I just found out about Baekho's enlistment, which I knew had to be coming, but my dude literally put it off until the last moment. Which means he won't be getting out until June of 2027, I think. "The sooner they go in, the sooner they come out" which is my normal, go-to pep-talk, doesn't really apply in this case. Anyway, I grabbed Rocket Punch for the ASC re-run (they're adorable), Golden Child for The Show re-run (I freaking love their music), and Verivery for the extra stage from Music Core  (synchronization kings right there). They're all excellent.  The links in the spreadsheet go to my reviews. The link down on ASC goes to the episode because it's weird about embedding the actual video.  Show Champion: Stray Kids "Do It" MCountdown: N/A Music Bank: ILLIT "NOT CUTE ANY...

By the time you read this, there will be less than a month left in 2025, which is crazy because it feels like January was simultaneously two months ago and also eighteen years ago.  First up, we have the debuts. Technically one of these that I covered was in fact posted in December, but I am counting it because it was a November debut, though not for a group. The group I covered was AM8IC , a boy group made up entirely of Chinese members that is based in South Korea and debuting in South Korea in K-Pop. I wanted to be very specific about this. The only other group I can think of that's this interesting in terms of demographics, starting location, and target audience is 1verse, which also doesn't have a South Korean in the group. Anyway, they debuted this month. And for the solo debut that I covered, that would be Jungwoo of NCT , right before his impending military enlistment. This means that all three members of the NCT subunit DoJaeJung will be in the military within the we...

Well, awards season has gone into full swing. So, these posts are going to start being really thin, if last year is any indication. But not yet. This week is pretty full. First win for some songs, which is delightful. You'll notice an extra stage down there and I want to address it first. So, there I was, trying to decide which group and song to do for my The Show stage I now share with you all. And I ran across this song. And I thought to myself, "I absolutely have to share this with everyone. I need everyone to know this song exists." But I didn't think that I wanted it to be the only stage I shared because, let's be real, it's a little odd while simultaneously this is kind of the ultimate I.N song. So here you have a song about bread by a duo who also have a song about vegetables and a song about curry.  And speaking of Stray Kids, in honor of the last JYP group to win a Daesang at the MAMAs, I  found out that they were on ASC back in 2014 for episode 103...

Okie dokie, everyone! My thoughts on things will be down at the bottom, instead of giving a long and verbose introduction, because we all know that what you're here for is actually the performances and the winners. Anything I have to say is a bonus, you know? The artists are the focus here. performances aespa ( Dirty Work + Rich Man ) ALLDAY PROJECT ( FAMOUS ) CORTIS ( GO! + FaSHioN ) G-Dragon (DRAMA + Heartbreaker + Untitled, 2025) IDID X KickFlip (PUSH BACK + My First Love Song + Boy In Luv) izna ( Mamma Mia ) JO1 (BE CLASSIC + Handz In My Pocket) Kim Hye Soo X Felix X Kyoka X Sung Hangbin X ALLDAY PROJECT (HEAR MY ROAR + BAD BOY + FAMOUS) RIIZE (Bag Bad Back + Fame ) Stray Kids (CREED + Chk Chk Boom + DIVINE + CEREMONY ) TOMORROW X TOGETHER (Upside Down Kiss + Beautiful Strangers ) ZEROBASEONE ( Doctor!
