Song Review:: ASC2NT: STILL : I- Still Rose

Image
Release date: 2026 February 26 Album track list: The Boy In The Mirror (feat. Yun Hyerin), Still Rose , Purple Rain, Full Moon, Replay Album runtime: 15 mi nutes  Their first mini album! Y'all,when I tell you that I love this group, I'm not kidding in the slightest. One of my favorite 2024 debuts, and I had quite a few that year that I kind of fell in love with. I'm actually tentatively excited to review this for you all. I haven't heard it yet, but I have more or less really liked what I've heard of them so far. Also, even to this day, every time I hear "Sweet Devil" I could swear they're saying "Sweet Denim", and it makes me giggle every single time. And I couldn't be happier about the fact that a) second gen idols are getting another chance and b) that the younger ones are still full-grown, in-their-twenties adults. It's like five stresses get lifted off my shoulders when groups debut as adults. The song goes through like three di...

December 2025 Wrap-Up: Winter is Ahead, But So Is Spring

Image
 Okay, everyone! Last one of the year! Whoo! Let's finish this off strong. Since it's likely that everyone will be reading this after we've hit the new year, no matter where we are, I'm just going to say Happy New Year! May your days be merry and bright! Make sure that you drink enough water and get enough sunlight! Unless, of course, you live somewhere that doesn't have a lot of sunlight right now, in which case, make sure you get your recommended dose of vitamin D to help compensate for that since your natural synthesis is more or less offline right now. Okay, December debuts! I actually covered four soloists who debuted this month. We had Yim Siwan from ZE:A, Chuei Li Yu , Choi Sungyun from Golden Child, and Lee Sungyeol from INFINITE. I have no idea who else debuted as soloists, but I'm delighted to share these guys. Groups that debuted are MEP-C (a multinational girl group) and BEWAVE - Jiun & Yunseul (BEWAVE subunit that tells me I need to add ano...

Song Review:: ASC2NT: Replay

Image
Release date: 2025 December 23 Album tracklist: Replay Album runtime: 3 minutes  It's been a hot minute since I've done a review from them because apparently I didn't notice that they did a July release, otherwise I would have made sure to do it. I like these guys. I like these guys a lot. And I like that runtime. Oh, that's a fantastic instrumental. It's also, surprisingly, definitely a winter song so that's going to be labeled appropriately. Huh. It starts off pretty mellow, and I was into it basically from the start. Then the energy kicked up a little bit, the bells started in and the entire song just brightened. The flow of the song is lovely.  Even the rapping in this song is lovely and lyrical. This is a great example of why I like them. The rapping and the singing styles flow so nicely into each other that the song sounds so cohesive, and that's ignoring the vocals layered over the rapping and the ad-libs and whoo-ing. You shouldn't ignore those b...

Song Review:: ASC2NT: Conversion Part 1- Sweet Devil

Image
Release date: 2024 October 04 Album tracklist:  Sweet Devil , Checkmate, Your Echo Album runtime: 9 minutes I know very little about ASC2NT.  I think they might be a 23/24 debut and I know they're a boy grou p. But other than that...It's amazing how many groups I know nothing about, but I suppose that's what happens when there are more than three hundred active groups right now. AH! I do know them! Kind of! This is the group where the older three were on Peak Time and then they redebuted this last May with two more as a five member group! I really liked those three, and I'm still upset about that! I'm happy Vanner won, but that was not cool what happened to these guys.  Anyway, I'm g lad to see them putting out another single. I knew I recognized this name. Hello there, electric guitar. The instrumentals have some very interesting instruments going on with something that sounds kind of like a cow bell, but I'm almost positive isn't. A triangle? It's...
