Song Review:: Nomad: Carnival

Image
Release date: 2025 February 28 Album track list: Carnival Album runtime: 4 mi nutes  Well, I'm pretty excited about the fact that they dropped another single. I'm tentatively hopeful by the title that this is going to be a fun song. For those of you who didn't catch my previous Nomad review, Nomad is pretty close to being an indie K-Pop group. The leader and the CEO were the ones to pick up the other four members. They were all adults at debut (thankfully because the photoshoot for their debut album was...a thing), but several of them trained at other companies, one of which was SM. Two of them were on different survival shows. And I deeply admire them for filming their struggles at debut because it was a lot harder than they expected it to be. The leader is also their producer and he is very exacting and deliberate, but he's got a great ear and the members seem to trust him. Okay. I was expecting something a bit more energetic and instead we've got a ballad. I will...

October 2024 Wrap Up: Of Course the Music is Musicking

 October is my Spookening month, my favorite month of the year. It also marks the anniversary of my first K-Pop performance that I saw! Thank you for coming, NINE.i! Also, once more, I want to thank you all for reading any of the reviews thus far. You are all lovely and amazing, and I hope you always have a cool side to your pillow.  I'm also already seeing the personal benefits of doing this, namely how distracted I am from the recent enlistments and the upcoming ones across groups. There is a lot to be doing, and a lot to be paying attention to. So, let's get to it! Starting off with my space to be indulgent and a fan, as I sit here sipping from my Seventeen tumbler and wearing a NU'EST shirt, there were some releases that I've been looking forward to for months, one that might qualify as a historic occasion, and some that definitely piqued my interest more than others. Google already thinks I'm obsessed with only G-Dragon. There is only G-Dragon. (I have exactly ...

Song Review:: Nomad: Call Me Back- Call Me Back

Image
Release date: 2024 October 09 Album tracklist: Call Me Back , Compare Album runtime: 6 minutes  This is one of my rookie groups I've picked up over the last year, and I couldn't be prouder of them. They had a steep learning curve for themselves, and I've been watching with their struggle and the fact that they've been working to overcome things they hadn't known to prepare for. They've done well, adjusting to everything. I wasn't overly fond of their debut song, but others on the album I really liked, and still do, so I could be relatively confident of future enjoyment. And best news of all, their maknae turned twenty-two this year, and they all were all trainees for at least three years and up to nine. And here we are with their first single. I deeply love the fact that a song called Call Me Back  actually includes the "the person you called didn't answer for whatever reason. After we beep at you, leave a message" recorded message you hear now...
