Greatest Hits:: Ladies' Code: Galaxy

Image
 Looking at my submissions, of the five or so I've got left right now, all but two of them are boy groups and one of those two is a soloist. So I'll finish off the girl group submissions and then get going with the boy groups. The submitter for this one specifically pointed me to a performance on Show Champion for this and said that they really admired the group for coming back after the accident with a song like this. Now, I'm mostly familiar with Ladies' Code because that's the group that Ashley from Dive Studios is from, and I love her. I think she's hilarious. But I don't know much about the group or their songs, so this was news to me that something had happened.  This is the group's most streamed song on Spotify, I think, which makes me so soft inside. MYST3RY was Ladies' Code's first single album, released in February of 2016, and their first release as a trio following the loss of EunB and RiSe. Galaxy  has some chops behind it, produced...

Greatest Hits:: Yoo Jae Suk (feat. EXO): Dancing King

 This one is a little bit different. It does come from The Form, so that's exciting, but, well, this song isn't my normal fare for a GH song. For one, Yoo Jae Suk isn't a K-Pop artist, he's a comedian as far as I know. EXO, yes. They're definitely K-Pop, but this is new territory. Still! That's okay! The more variety, the better! I just don't know how long this one is going to be, and I feel bad for that right now, but I'm not going to extend it any further than it needs to be. Interestingly, looking up the background to this song suddenly makes GoSe and LOVE Story make more sense. I love learning about the original references to things. This is why I like context and why you all get to suffer through my ramblings of context, because I enjoy being able to contextualize things. I very much am not  a follower of the "art can exist as is and independent of reader influence and author intent" schools of literary criticism.  Okay, so this song came ...

Battle of the B-Sides:: NU'EST: ONE KISS2

 Even though I desperately want to do nothing but talk about my absolute ult and first group, the unfortunate reality I face every time I have to pick a song for either a GH or a BBS post, and it's one that everyone who is a fan of a disbanded group is aware of, is that until and unless they get back together after their enlistments, NU'EST songs are a finite resource. If I go hog wild on them, I will run out of them quickly. So, really, I should save them for special occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries. And this isn't one, but I have also spent the past week or so just missing them. So I'm ignoring the suggestions for this posting cycle, I'm ignoring the Roulette Wheel, and I'm ignoring the irrationality of the emotion. I'm sure this is partially fueled by the awareness of Hoshi's impending enlistment with the release of CBZ , but it is what it is. So I'm also giving myself permission to just fangirl over this song. Please note that the name...

Battle of the B-Sides: B.A.P: Carnival

 So this was actually suggested to me by multiple members of the fandom when I shared the Greatest Hits post for the title track,  Feel So Good,  with them. There's been enough time since I posted that (about a month) and there's been enough variation in the GH and BBS posts since then that this feels like a good time to post this. And that way, I can get this back to them finally, and it can stop sitting on my head screaming at me to do it. So, this is from the B.A.P's eponymous 2016 album, Carnival. You all are apparently getting very cheery songs right now. I don't know how much of it is me wanting cheerful songs, but aggressive cheerfulness can almost never go wrong. Honestly, the song feels like a finale song to a musical, where they're dancing down the middle of a street, with the others in the cast falling in behind while streamers and confetti rain down around them and the band is actually a marching band. It's just fun incarnate.  Every time I hear Ban...

Greatest Hits:: B.A.P: Feel So Good

 We're heading back to 2016 for this one, and that album cover is so unlike anything else they put out that obviously I had to go with this title track. I like the bright colors and the cheer and the amount of fun there.  And if you want goofy, that music video is unrepentantly so. This song was apparently them taking a break from their dark songs, which, as much as I like dark songs, I really, really love goofy ones just as much.  Group : B.A.P (Best Absolute Perfect) Debut Date : 2012 January 26 Company : TS Entertainment/ MA Entertainment Status : Disbanded (2019 February 18)/ Reformed (2024 June 12) Album : Carnival Song : Feel So Good Release Date : 2016 February 22 You know what? I feel like some screenshots are in order because no one should miss out on these moments. For all the fans out there, in case you happen to have forgotten, this was the one where Zelo had the rainbow pigeon poop hair. Which, you will be reminded of shortly.  I know that I have the mus...
