Just A Little Fangirl Love

  So many first wins for songs, and, I think we may have a first win for a group? I think so? If that's the case, then an even bigger congrats!  I miss back when After School Club was active (yes, I'm still in denial) because then I didn't have to pick an artist. And then I didn't miss seeing those three every week. It was nice getting to see what Aron is up to. Sigh. Don't let my melancholy stop you from enjoying Ep. 576 from back in 2023, featuring ATBO, though! For The Show, I went with Cravity (and it was actually my first time hearing that song; whoever is doing the ad-libs there at the end, yowza) in 2020. I grabbed three extra stages for y'all this week. If it happens a third time, I'm going to ask for my nickels. I'm appalled by the run time though. I just noticed it partway through the review (because I haven't written the above information yet), and it's a two-and-a-half minute title track. We've got a very strong beat with this, but we also don't have a skittering beat. It's a little bit more hip-hop than I want to be listening to generally, but there's a lot more variation than I was expecting. That's two sentences in a row with the word "but". There's a fun acceleration at the midway point, but there's something that I want from the song, but is dissatisfying. I'm looking at the title runtime and just being a little disappointed in it, although there is a song that's over three minutes so after I write this, I'm going to be taking a look at that one in hope that one specifically is really good. Not that I'm not also hoping to really like Beat-Boxer, but it's the length, you know? This is a surprisingly sparce instrumental for a lot of the song. It's got moments where it gets a bit more energetic and full, but for the most part, it's at most a quiet beat behind the vocals, which is a lot of rapping. There are also some interesting science fiction warbles and what sounds faintly like alarm sirens. Album runtime: 14 minutes  Hello, group that's supposed to be the next Stray Kids, which is a ridiculous moniker to slap a rookie group with before they'd even debuted, especially when they aren't even in the same division at JYPE. I'm still so annoyed that they were called that. When this post comes out, they'll have hit their six month mark, barely, so congrats to them for that!! Also, congrats to me for this being my 200th post!! 🎉 It's a serendipitous alignment of the stars, and I am pleased by this.
