But also this is my man Junhee. This sounds like something The8 would release, which is just fun. The instrumental is a little bit intense for how gentle the vocals are. It's not intense the entire time, which is good because the song does need it for the variation, but it's supportive, which is what we ask for from songs, even if it's a little overwhelming for the vocals. Junhee is getting very close to rapping here, which is delightful. He's got one of those voices that are incredibly distinct and while this song doesn't show off exactly how strong his voice is, it does show...

Also, can we just be excited that he's got Wow on the album with him on one of the songs? I've got a soft spot for Wow because he's the one that laughed at me. But still! I love it when they have their groupmates on their solo stuff. And look at the runtime! I knew I liked him. This is not quite clubbing EDM music. It's very close to it with that beat style and the synthy grind that reminds me a bit of a metal key being dragged across a piano string, but the beat is just slow enough that it doesn't have the energy for clubbing. For the After School Club  re-run, I went with one of my favorite live performing groups: A.C.E. This was ep. 437 from 2020. There's a reason why they're a favorite for ASC because they're kind of fantastic, but also, every time they sit down, they flip their robes and it's delightful. We get to hear this lovely voice out in the wild now! And the runtime almost makes me want to cry from joy.  Okay, you know what? I'm down with this guitar. It's very calm and comforting. It takes a bit for the drums to properly join in although we get a small burst of them earlier. But the song gets so much time with just the guitar in the instrumental that I'm intrigued and pleased by this. The contrast of the verses and the chorus is delightful, full energy shift.  He's wailing  everyone. It's part of the ad-libs at the end, but it's incredible and I'm not just saying that because his vibrato gets fully unleashed in that little section. That's right, he debuted as a soloist back in July and I never covered it. Still, despite how infuriatingly short the songs on this mini album are, I'm happy to see him and to cover this. And I also see that another of the songs got a music video, so I'll add that to the extensive list. I'm deeply annoyed by the album runtime though.  Close To You has a lot of potential for an acoustic version, which is delightful. Some of the synthy bits remind me a little bit of Stranger Things, the instrumental soundtrack music not the pop soundtrack music.  Did I review two A.C.E songs in the same period? Yes. But this one was a request against some Savage  slander my Choice friend saw online, and there's absolutely no way I'm going to turn down a chance for an A.C.E song. Their voices are beyond incredible. I need them to come back here so I can go see them and get more time listening to those gorgeous, gorgeous voices. In the meantime, I've got their discography and the plethora of covers they've done over the last seven years. They still don't have a win, and that feels criminal. Anyway, this was the second track on the mini album, and its lyricist (VED) basically only wrote this song and another A.C.E song. I am simply happy and grateful and will endeavor to continue this honesty with love and recognition of the hard work of the artists. September of 2024 saw a couple of debuts, a re-debut, and some comebacks I was very much looking forward to, as well as some I would have been looking forward to had I been listening to the group/artist already. The ones I personally was emotionally invested are as follows: Vahn (NINE.i): They were the first group I saw in person, and the reason I watched Boy's Planet, after the fact of course because I didn't get into K-Pop until after ZB1 had already debuted. I put off doing this review because the last time I did one, I got the Jeonghan news.
