Song Review:: Changsub (BTOB): I will be your flower

Image
Release date: 2025 May 12 Album tracklist:  I will be your flower , I will be your flower (Inst.) Album runtime: 7 minutes  My man, Changsub. I'm patiently waiting for his return to activities with BTOB. It's fine. I know this is going to be a great song. Also, fun fact that I literally just learned because after watching the music video, such as it is, for this, I found out that Changsub was on Jaefriends , and I was like "Sold. I love Jaejoong. Man is a boss." So I did that instead of my next review. And I found out something really cool about this song. So Changsub did a cover of a Roy Kim song for a concert. Roy Kim contacted Changsub and praised the cover as well as asking if it would be alright if he (Roy Kim) sent him (Changsub) a song. This is that song.  Instrumental track, so I'm happy as a clam. I'm reminded a lot of the soundtrack to the 1980 Anne of Green Gables with that intro, but it's generally so gloriously cinematic that I could cry. We...

Song Review:: Changsub (BTOB): Feel the Groove

Image
Release date: 2025 February 14 Album tracklist:  Feel The Groove Album runtime: 3 minutes   Finally I can get to my cat's ult bias .  Which is Changsub. In case you didn't catch that. He seriously loves this man's voice and I genuinely do not understand how my demon child who loves horror movies can love the balladeers of BTOB so much, but specifically Changsub. I asked T'Challa once if he would abandon me if he ever met Changsub and he screamed at me. I'm taking that as a yes, feral demon child that he is. So, congrats to Changsub for taming the wild beast. And sadly that's not a metaphor. T'Challa was feral when I got a hold of him and some days I think he'd like to ignore the last seven years and go back to that. After this review, I'll have to put this on for him.  Oh, you're just going to casually throw around an organ? That's fine. Bring on the funk, Changsub. I'm reminded quite a lot of one of the tracks from Final Fantasy X  with ...

October 2024 Wrap Up: Of Course the Music is Musicking

Image
 October is my Spookening month, my favorite month of the year. It also marks the anniversary of my first K-Pop performance that I saw! Thank you for coming, NINE.i! Also, once more, I want to thank you all for reading any of the reviews thus far. You are all lovely and amazing, and I hope you always have a cool side to your pillow.  I'm also already seeing the personal benefits of doing this, namely how distracted I am from the recent enlistments and the upcoming ones across groups. There is a lot to be doing, and a lot to be paying attention to. So, let's get to it! Starting off with my space to be indulgent and a fan, as I sit here sipping from my Seventeen tumbler and wearing a NU'EST shirt, there were some releases that I've been looking forward to for months, one that might qualify as a historic occasion, and some that definitely piqued my interest more than others. Google already thinks I'm obsessed with only G-Dragon. There is only G-Dragon. (I have exactly ...

Song Review:: Lee Changsub (BTOB): 1991- 33

Image
Release date: 2024 October 02 Album tracklist: Macchiato, 33 , Old Town , vain hope , Saturday Night, NEW WAVE, Golden Hour, STAY, Chivalry, BUMPBUMP, #RUN, As Always Album runtime: 42 minutes  At last, Changsub's long awaited first album has released. It's not a debut, but it is his first proper album. Twelve tracks! Look at that runtime! Changsub is back and better than ever after his throat problems at the beginning of the year! I remember him saying once that he likes rock best, and this album reflects that. And he's giving us double title tracks. This is a gift. I just got distracted by his voice. It's fine. I can focus.  My cat, T'Challa, is a huge Changsub fan. I have an actual video of watching BTOB's Killing Voice with him in my lap watching the screen with me. And his ears prick and his eyes dilate every time Changsub sings. Am I listening to this away from him because I am the Worst Cat Mom Ever? Yes. But I'm also willing to bet he'll try to l...

September 2024 Wrap Up: We'll Meet Again, Don't Know Where, Don't Know When

Image
 The official start of this little music review blog! I'm proud of it. And, again, thank you for everyone who has read even a single post so far, even if you aren't reading this one. I am simply happy and grateful and will endeavor to continue this honesty with love and recognition of the hard work of the artists. And for the one person who seems to be reading every single one, thank you and I love you. You make my morning every day. September of 2024 saw a couple of debuts, a re-debut, and some comebacks I was very much looking forward to, as well as some I would have been looking forward to had I been listening to the group/artist already. The ones I personally was emotionally invested are as follows: Vahn (NINE.i): They were the first group I saw in person, and the reason I watched Boy's Planet, after the fact of course because I didn't get into K-Pop until after ZB1 had already debuted. I love their voices, and I have yet to run into a song I didn't like by them...

Song Review:: Changsub (BTOB): 1991- vain hope {Pre-Release}

Image
  Release date: 2024 October 02 Album tracklist: Macchiato,  33 ,  Old Town , vain hope, Saturday Night, NEW WAVE, Golden Hour, STAY, Chivalry, BUMPBUMP, #RUN, As Always Album runtime: 42 minutes I have been waiting for this album since April, but unfortunately, Changsub has been dealing with throat issues. So no album release for him then. And then no news about it, until, SURPRISE ALBUM DROP! Exactly as I'd expect from a member of BTOB.  Normally, this would be when I start talking about the instrumentals, but Changsub's voice is so comforting that it would be a disservice. I am trying to separate the fact that I'm relying on it for the emotional support and what it would normally make me feel, I promise. But the first time I heard it was the fan cam he posted when he performed it at the mall before I needed my emotional support group, and I loved it then and thought it was melancholic and comforting, much as I still do now. Actually, the melody reminds me of ...
