Music Show Wins:: Week of 03/12 - 03/18

Well, that was a clean sweep. VIPs and FAM, congrats! This is roughly as I expected to happen, so thank you for not disappointing me, but I'm only including the music video because there were no performances except for MCountdown two weeks ago. The Show has disappointed me for not airing anything, I'm assuming there were some extenuating circumstances. On After School Club, we had OT5 again with 100 . They're hilarious. Also, as I was watching the portion where they play the game, I found the perfect gif to describe one of the members. This was a funny episode. Also, Aron mentioned that he'd celebrated his thirteenth anniversary over the weekend and when asked a question about his members, I was unsurprised by his response and I still laughed. via GIPHY And as always, the links in the graph go to the reviews. Song Review:: One Pact: Pink Crush- 100

Image
Release date: 2025 February 14 Album tracklist: & Heart, WILD:, B2U, wait!, Confession , 100! , Never Stop Album runtime: 21 minutes I very much look forward to One Pact releases. They're not one of my groups that I know a lot about, but I do know Jay and I like Jay well enough that I look forward to the releases, but I wouldn't call myself a fan of the group. I apologize if that was a bit of a ramble. Is Jay in this release considering he's still ostensibly part of B.D.U? I don't know. I will find out. This song is delightfully funky and I am here for this. Now, granted, I'm writing this while I'm sitting in case my family members needs assistance filing her taxes so I'm very bored. This song could be saving my sanity because of the situation I'm in. But, I can also say that it has some spicy saturated colors to the song that are making me gently wiggle while I listen to the family member talk their way through filing, meaning there's good dance...

Song Review:: One Pact: Everyday X-MAS

Image
Release date: 2024 December 24 Album tracklist: Everyday X-MAS Album runtime: 3 minutes  My first question is "Does this include Jay?", not because I necessarily only want One Pact with Jay, but because I have no idea what is happening with the B.D.U situation is, and I'm a little concerned. Barring that, let's see what this Christmas offering is. I am very much excited to see what is going on. These are some very smooth instrumentals. I'm very impressed by it. Also, it's either chimes or a xylophone that is gently twinkling up above the rest of the much more noticeable drums, synth, and piano. I'm not sure which specifically it is because I can't tell if it's metal or not. Or it's possible that both are used and my uncertainty is because both are available. Either way, it's a very nice touch to what is a very generic (as in, adhering to the rules of the genre, which is not a bad thing) set of instrumentals, and the only thing that is more ...

Song Review:: Jay Chang (ONE PACT): NEIGHBORHOOD- What You Need

Image
Release date: 2024 November 22 Album tracklist: Paper Cut,  LaSalle Ave , Four Seasons, What You Need (feat. TAG) Album runtime: 13 minutes  I was not expecting a second music video to come out of this, but I'm okay with it being the song he did with his groupmate. Although, after seeing Bitsaeon with his group for the single, I'm a little concerned for B.D.U, not going to lie, and more concerned upon learning that Jay is doing a solo thing across the US. I know it's not a permanent group, but I really like them. Don't mind me. I'm worried and a little sulky. Hello, funky guitar. This is certainly a fun song, and I suspect one that will be well suited for car dancing. It's got brief patches of respirator percussion and whistling, but the fun and flirty synth added in during the quieter sections of the instrumentals does a lot to keep the energy going. They're not overly ambitious, but very satisfactorily support the vocals and provide enough contrast to prev...

Song Review:: Jay Chang (ONE PACT): NEIGHBORHOOD- LaSalle Ave

Image
Release date: 2024 November 22 Album tracklist: Paper Cut, LaSalle Ave , Four Seasons, What You Need (feat. TAG) Album runtime: 13 minutes Ah, my boy, Jay. He's had a journey, hasn't he? And even though ONE PACT just had a comeback, he's with B.D.U, so he couldn't perform with his original group, and I'm a little curious about the fact that he is putting out a solo album while he's with B.D.U. Not that he couldn't, but with the short time frame of most project groups like this, I'm surprised he has the time. Unless the company isn't doing anything with them, in which case, shame on them. Who even has B.D.U? As is typical when I have questions like this, I went sniffing to find the answer is a company called Orca Music that I can find no information on. Is the company specifically for them? Does the company have another group? When was it founded? Inquiring minds want to know. This has a lovely jazzy vibe to it, but it's not 1940s jazz. It's a...

Music Show Wins: Week of 11/13 - 11/19

Ros é's reign continues. It's genuinely fascinating to me considering she's not promoting it in Korea. I'm not sure that she's actually promoting at all, but since I haven't spent that much BLACKPINK stuff to begin with, let alone the members' solo careers, I am not the demographic to know what all is going on with her. Still, beginning their own power sweep is TxT. Aespa finally managed to knock Ros é out of her position as queen of Inkigayo at the moment, which is a natural passing of the crown. Let's see if they can keep it for next week or if someone else can get it. On ASC, during the MC Challenge, they had to do it extra times, and then water may have been requested after it. So ONE PACT's challenge is no joke. It entertained me. And Aron talked about his hangout with his members, which made me happy. Show Champion: Tomorrow x Together "Over The Moon" (note: I couldn't find a performance for this, so this is the Inkigayo performan...

Song Review:: ONE PACT: fallln'- DESERVED

Image
Release date: 2024 October 18 Album tracklist: At the last moment, DESERVED , I still do, Reach you, Next life, My dear Album runtime: 18 minutes  Yay, ONE PACT! As happy as I am for Jay being in B.D.U, I can't wait for him to get back to his group. This starts off with a pretty fast BPM, and then it thankfully slows down a little when the vocals start up with an interesting clock ticking. This sounds like pretty standard house music, but it does have moments where there are disruptions and the instrumentals smoothly glide the vocals forward rather than aggressively propel them. There is something interesting that I noticed and I might not have if I hadn't been listening to it on repeat as is my standard. The very end instrumentals after the singing stops uses a rest instead of a final aural beat, which actually tells you that the song has ended, while the introduction of the song picks up exactly the same as where it ended. It's a loop, but it also gives you that indicatio...
