Song Review:: One Pact: Pink Crush- 100

  • Album tracklist: & Heart, WILD:, B2U, wait!, Confession, 100!, Never Stop

  • Album runtime: 21 minutes

I very much look forward to One Pact releases. They're not one of my groups that I know a lot about, but I do know Jay and I like Jay well enough that I look forward to the releases, but I wouldn't call myself a fan of the group. I apologize if that was a bit of a ramble. Is Jay in this release considering he's still ostensibly part of B.D.U? I don't know. I will find out.

This song is delightfully funky and I am here for this. Now, granted, I'm writing this while I'm sitting in case my family members needs assistance filing her taxes so I'm very bored. This song could be saving my sanity because of the situation I'm in. But, I can also say that it has some spicy saturated colors to the song that are making me gently wiggle while I listen to the family member talk their way through filing, meaning there's good danceability to the instrumentals, but it's not saturated enough for me to be irresistibly dragged to the dancing life.

Like with the instrumentals, I'm getting some strong 70s vibes from their vocals. I'm actually reminded quite a bit of Michael Jackson and other contemporaries. There are a lot of falsettos on display in this song, though there has been less vibrato than I'd like to hear. Still, it's proving to be a good song to have on in the background. Whether or not that's a good thing is beside the point for me right now. It's fulfilling it's purpose right now.

And, yes. Jay is present for this song. Look at that smile.

There's a tiny bit of a storyline, and it's sappy and love related. Which is perfectly suited for Valentine's Day. Otherwise, this music video falls into the vibes and visuals music video category. I've decided I really like that as a descriptor, but good news for me, this isn't fully like that. There are in fact bits that help to reinforce the message of the song through the text messages, and that's honestly enough for me to not fully slot it into the vibes and visuals. Without those text messages, it would actually just be a vibes and visuals music video. But it's cute, the longing in the song that is echoed through those music videos. Plus, I like how they seem to be getting along.
