Post-survival show is always one of my favorite things to watch with groups as they deal with going back to their normal lives, hopefully with a few more fans. With their win on Ace of Ace, I hope that it works well for them, as with the other groups that competed, and things work out better than as hoped. Plus, I've got a special fondness for them because of ASC.
This is a hard driving song where really the only soft place to the song is the very start. The rest of the song is flung forward by the guitar and the drums, and even when neither of those instrument is actually present, the ticking clock does a great job of increasing at least the tension, because I don't know many people for whom that sound doesn't immediately bring stress. The quiet is used well to make the loud louder. This is just a really good rock song. Even without their voices, I'd be tempted to put it in a regular listening playlist.
I've noticed in K-Pop that there's a fine line for me in regards to the amount of rap a rock, or rock-like, song can have before I have to force myself to push against my own musical tastes and dig into the song as it deserves. Rock is already one of the genres I really like. I'm working on developing a taste for hip-hop, but Now or Never doesn't hit the point where I have to fight myself, thankfully, which makes my job easier. This song as a whole reminds me of something, but I'm not sure specifically which part of the song it is. But the ad-libs are a thing of beauty, and I couldn't be more here for them.
I was waffling a little bit about what genre of music video this was, until it took a steep and unreturnable dive into science fiction disaster movie. That cleared up my question. There's a lot of running that happens in the music video, which is strongly representative of that restless feeling you have as a young adult to go and do, but not necessarily sure exactly what. And then your world implodes because of some outside force you couldn't have anticipated. I appreciate this whole thing. It's nice. Sad, but since I'm not sure if they're meant to be on the space station or not (although it also wouldn't surprise because I think three of them definitely were and that's why they have the scenes they do. And I really like the science fun fact at the very beginning in tiny print at the bottom.
