Song Review:: M.O.N.T: When Winter Comes

My M.O.N.T boys! This is a surprise! I have such a fondness for them, not least of which because Bitsaeon is currently rocking it with B.D.U. But, I digress. I'm so very pleased about this. On with it!

This is a mellower sound than we've been hearing from them recently, which fits a winter song. This isn't a mellow song. I want to be clear about that. But it isn't as aggressive as they normally go. The strumming has a somewhat watery affectation, which is what softens the sound of the instrumentals as much as they are. I'll need to take a look at the lyrics, but I would not have pegged this for a winter song. I went back a few hours after I wrote this to see if they lyrics had who did what attached to them yet, and I'm seeing Bitsaeon's name. I'm glad the three of them are ostensibly back together, but I'm confused, because of the above being in B.D.U. But now I know who the low-voiced one is, and wow.

That is some fabulous lazy rapping. The one thing I don't like about being so quick on the draw with these is that I don't know most of their voices well enough to be able to say whose is whose, especially when I want to look at a specific part to figure out who it is. Written by one of the members (Roda), the vocals especially are beautiful. I don't know what the song is about as I think it's almost entirely in Korean, but I wouldn't say it necessarily sounds happy, but I'm a little confused because of the tone of the instrumentals. It's very pretty though, regardless of whatever the song is about.

Ah. This is the sad and lonely version of a winter song. I understand what's happening now. And I'd recognize those ears anywhere. What is Bitsaeon doing? Anyway, this is a very simple music video. It's very pleasant. The play with light is excellent. I'd almost call it hard lighting, because of the positioning and such, but it's such a soft, warm glow that I'd be hard-pressed to describe it as anything other than soft lighting.

Apparently the random wheel generator likes the fourth generation groups at the moment, which I'm fine with because eventually I'll get to do older groups and that's something I'm very excited about. But, in the meantime, we get a group that I initially became interested in because I really enjoyed watching them dance on Queendom 2. Do I actually know much about them? Nope. But I do know that they have a lot of subunits, like tripleS, and are currently promoting under various subunits and/or as soloists.  We're heading back to 2016 for this one, and that album cover is so unlike anything else they put out that obviously I had to go with this title track. I like the bright colors and the cheer and the amount of fun there.  And if you want goofy, that music video is unrepentantly so. Song Review:: Jin (BTS): Happy- Running Wild {Debut}

Also, I didn't find out until I woke up that BigHit also had released the music video at least while I was still awake, so that's something I'll keep track of in the future. Happy solo debut, Jin!  My first BBS request! I just saw some of the memes being made about their performance and the amount of space between Wendy and Jin, and I just have to say that they're hilarious and the amount of trolling I'm seeing from the fans gives me life. The timing is actually really helpful for me to get into fan mindset. This request comes from a user on Reddit, who simply said there was too much, they were obsessed, and then linked me to an appreciation post they'd done. This is what I like to see, and it gave me a very good place to start: Jin and Wendy's voices. As a side note, Jin really does have the perfect trot voice. This isn't even in that genre or anywhere approaching it, but that honestly doesn't change this fact about him. Song Review:: Treasure: Last Night

It's nice that the company remembered that they existed and decided to get them out of the pasture where they'd been retired. I kind of feel like they weren't even locked in the basement. But! YGE needed them, and so they've been returned to work.  This song reminds me so much of Good Time  by Owl City. It's not even funny. I was sitting here for five minutes humming until I could recall lyrics and then one short search later, and I got the song I was thinking of. The instrumentals here are so similar. I'm also reminded of early 00s Disney Channel star pop or late 00s boy band pop with how very bright this song is. Song Review:: ATEEZ: Golden Hour : Part.2- Ice On My Teeth

This is the second time that fromis_9 has left a company, and while part of me is sad about this, I'm wishing them well in their future endeavors and hope they can find a new home that will treat them well and as they deserve. So, in honor of this, I'm going to go back to 2019 shortly after debut when they were still at their first company and their single, FUN FACTORY, and one of the b-sides contained therein.  This is a song sung by only two of the members, Jiwon and Hayoung, but they also have credits as the writers! The talent! It's such a pretty song. Also, their composing composing team is called "Dam-Dam," which I also think is kind of cute, and this was the first song that they did together. This is very much a summer kind of song and the irony that I'm doing this in winter is not lost on me, but it's summer somewhere, so it's fine.
