It's a testament to my self control regarding these posts because this was the first girl group that I really vibed with and some of their songs (including this one) have found their way not into just my general listening playlists, but also some of the specific playlists, like my pre-work playlist, that I have. I just really like the Pledis groups, y'all, and even though I will be one of the first in line about their management issues (exhibit...basically all of their groups), they generally have a track record of picking very good songs for their groups. This song was one of the first ones I picked for the theme for the month and I slotted it in specifically to be released today, because Happy Mother's Day, everyone! Release date: 2026 March 31 Album track list:  Black Star , Black Star (Instrumental) Album runtime: 10 mi nutes  I wasn't planning on doing any OSTs the next little bit, but then I saw that Nana, my girl Nana, dropped this one and  it's over five minutes long. Say less. I have absolutely no idea what this is for. Not a clue. Doesn't matter. The thing I love about OSTs is that we almost always get the instrumental attached. Well, that's just gorgeous. It has an obvious storyline, even without any lyrics. Starting off with just a piano, adding instruments slowly to let the song gently unfold and move with absolutely no rush, this song feels almost ludicrously indulgent with the amount of time it takes to just breathe. I'm disappointed by the barely two minute runtime, although a better word would be horrified, but she is one of the group's main vocalists, the group's first soloist, and because of how bad Pledis can be at managing and promoting their groups, especially their two earliest ones, I never know how familiar people are with them as a group, if not as soloists even if none of them are with Pledis anymore. I'm excited to share her voice with you. She also did recently call out and condemn stalking behavior she's been experiencing, so good for her.  This is a very chill instrumental. It's a lot of guitar with a very soft overlay because of the chimes. This is kind of putting me to sleep a little bit.  I was so busy this month. Y'all. I didn't do a ton of the reviews, which is coming back to bite me in the butt now that I'm trying to get my year end post worked on. It's fine. Past Fangirl hates Future Fangirl, and it's completely fine.  July debuts! I only did a single review for a debut group this month, and it was for AHOF , who has been doing quite well for a rookie group. I may get 1verse reviewed because I still feel guilty about not reviewing them. Debuts I didn't cover: CrazAngel (girl group), Tomatomat (girl group), 1verse (boy group), 4X4 (girl group) and SEVENTOEIGHT  (boy group).   Big Ocean JJ (subunit of Big Ocean) also debuted.
