Song Review:: Bang Yongguk (B.A.P): If tomorrow never comes
- Release date: 2026 June 06
- Album tracklist: If tomorrow never comes
- Album runtime: 2 minutes
The title of this song reminds me a lot of the Garth Brooks song by the same name. There's no way this is going to be related to that song, because there's no way I could get that lucky, so I'll strive to contain that hope so I'm not disappointed. I'm already disappointed by the two-and-a-half minute run time, so let's hope the disappointment ends there. (In case anyone cares about the hyphens I use there, I will refer you to this clip from Ever After, which is the best Cinderella movie and explains a lot about my personality).
Old timey. I like it. The instrumental is also a little bit on the watery side somehow, though the maracas definitely make the song more grounded. It's a very mellow song. Even when we get what I have to assume is a dance break there at the very end and the song kind of kicks up into a little bit more energy, it doesn't increase enough that I'd call it energetic. Oh! I just remembered, or realized is perhaps a better word, what that brass instrument reminds me of: You're Special by Dan Bull. This is nice.
Unfrotunately, this is nothing like Garth Brooks's song, which is expected but still a disappointment because I think it would be an interesting song for a K-Pop artist to cover. You want a love song? Anyway, like the instrumental, this is a very mellow song vocally. He's definitely singing here, with stylistic autotune aplied to give him a very specific sound. I feel like this song may be in all English, but it's a song where I'd need the lyrics if I wanted to learn it. In this case, it's the autotune that blends the sounds together so I can't uite tell what he's saying. This also feels a lot like this may be a earning, seduction song, one of the lightly pathetic but very whipped variety. Full devotion in that quiet way people can be behind closed doors.
This is how I learn homeboy has an album coming out soon. This feels so indie art project as a music video. This is a bit of a weird music video in the "how do all these images connect" way and not a "why is he riding a unicorn while alternating PNGs of nyancat circle around his head" weird.
