Solar, the queen you are. That's it. That's all I have to say about this. That and I love how long the song is.
Plus, we get just the instrumental so I get to use it. I can't decide if this is more disco or funk, but it's upbeat and there's a very distinct call-and-response embedded in the song that demands audience participation more than the fan chant. That's right, guys, gals, and nonbinary pals, we've got the return of some audience participation clapping! There for a while, there were a lot of songs being released that had either audience participation snapping or clapping, which I loved. It's nice to have this return to it. This song feels like it's a lot of fun, and I'm here for it.
This song doesn't show off her vocal skills quite as much as I would like it too. It also feels a lot tamer than what we normally get from her, so it's interesting. I like it. It's a good song. It's just not as saturated as I expected. It's fine. As long as this isn't part of the worrying trend, she can do as she likes, and it's not like her voice is under-saturated here. It's still big and it still sounds like Solar without any of her big, fun riffs or vocal extravagance. Now, to be clear, she does have big ad-libs, but they're very much hidden in this track and I suspect it'll take a live performance for them to really come out and play.
This music video is so cleverly done with the different perspectives and sizes. I love it. The perspective shifts? Wow. It's incredible. I really want to hear from the director on how this was filmed, and it's been a while since I've really wanted to dig into a music video like this. Oh, I love it as a piece of cinema. Also, the parts where she's got the bangs, she looks like Lisa from BLACKPINK. Solar is stunning. And this looks like she was having fun.
