Music Show Wins:: Week of 05/07 - 05/13
One of those wins is not like the others. I saw the article the other day talking about its surprise climb up the charts since last October, but what's so impressive about this is the song is over a year old and Woodz is in the military (also, this was his second win ever, which makes me so genuinely happy for him). He gets out in July, which is now something else for me to look forward to while I wait for Minhyun to get out. We're down to about seven months for him, about ten for JR, and about thirteen for Jeonghan and Ren (I think). Little micro-goals to focus on instead of the inevitable creep of time resulting in more idols enlisting. The discharges is a much less stressful thing to focus on.
I also apologize for the lack of reviews the last few days, so I'll move these necessary reviews up to the top of the list for me to do, and add Woodz in. Not that this is a hardship because I love Drowning, but whatever. (This is a hint that if someone else also loves this song to suggest it to The Form. Or in a comment. I'm not picky.)
As After School Club is still on hiatus, I'm offering a re-run from 2021, featuring Jamie and Jaeyun (former leader of TOO/TO1, now going by Jayn) as the MCs! He's been a guest MC a few times since I've started doing this and it looks like he may have been one of the regular MCs or a semi-regular guest MC around the time of this episode. Who is it? LIGHTSUM, idle's younger sisters! The name change is going to mess me up for a bit, but I'll get used to it. Yeah, I'm really excited to share them with y'all because CUBE is not good at promoting their groups, and LIGHTSUM in particular seems to have gotten the short end of several sticks. Going almost a year between releases and then with only a digital single? Tsk. This is from their first year, and they are genuinely adorable, but most importantly, it's for their debut song, Vanilla! Fun fact: this song peaked at #8 on the US charts.
