Song Review:: TOMORROW X TOGETHER: The Star Chapter: TOGETHER - Beautiful Stranger

  • Release date: 2025 July 21

  • Album tracklist: Upside Down Kiss, Beautiful Strangers, Ghost Girl, Sunday river, Dance With You, Take My Half, Bird of Night, Song of the Stars

  • Album runtime: 22 minutes

Okay, I have two left of these to review to get caught up on the music show wins this quarter, and since I have time right now, I'm going to get to work on this one. I've been deeply disappointed by their album runtimes of late, and I'm largely blaming that on HYBE for several reasons, but also some other things. But! This time we have two songs that are over three minutes long and one of those is nearly three-and-a-half. So. We're moving in the correct direction. Unfortunately, the title track is neither of those two songs. Instead, this song comes in at a paltry two minutes and eighteen seconds. Not even two-and-a-half minutes. Why. Okay. Let's see if this can avoid being milquetoast. I'm really, really hoping for this. We're moving away from that sound in general, and I'd love for this to continue with that trend. I suppose it does depend a little on when this was written and recorded.

Not milquetoast. Excellent. We are in fact moving on from that. Now we just need the songs to get longer again. This has a good beat to it, and the synth is synthing.

Edit: Okay, so that's not fun. The rest of this didn't get saved. Y'all, I am sorry. I do not know what happened.

There's a large level of drama to the song that makes me grieve a little for the song this could have been with more time. It sounds delightfully science fiction-y, alien invasion when the synth decides to play percussion. Honestly, it reminds me a little bit of a combination of Growing Pains and Thursday's Child, but more alien invasion, which is good for those of us who are me, because those are some of my favorite TXT songs, right there.

One of my favorite things about this group is that one, you don't usually have a lot their songs in the stratosphere, and I'm not talking about the hotel in Las Vegas, while you simultaneously often have a lot of them layered on top of each other. There are only five of them, but you get more of that than you get from some of the bigger groups who could do some really interesting things with their numbers. And I'm pretty sure it's Yeonjun who is so raspy, which is such a gorgeous sound to be hearing and I love it when he sings.

The music video adds on a whole minute to the song. It's an action thriller for a music video, which delights me to no end, and they did such an amazing job. The plot kind of reminds me of Maximum Ride a little bit, which is great. All of his.
