Song Review:: Close Your Eyes: blackout- X

I picked up a lot of boy groups this year from the freshly debuted batch. Close Your Eyes, survival show debuting team, is but one of them, but every single song they've come out with has been awesome.

I love the instrumental at the beginning more than life and I wish it was more present throughout the rest of the song. It's gorgeous and immediately had me thinking of the 90s, but I also really like how you can hear the melody being used throughout the song. It's not loud enough that it threatens the vocals, but it does provide an extra layer of sound to sit underneath the vocals and support them. It feels a little familiar, but I'm not sure what exactly I'm reminded of. If I remember, I'll include it.

Why do they sound like a newer version of Shinhwa? Vocally, I'm reminded a ton of Perfect Man, and I'm kind of in love with that. They're one of my favorite first gen groups for a reason, and so to have a fifth gen group following in their footsteps is kind of fantastic. The amount of vocal layering in this song is incredible. It's so vocally rich.

A music video with a storyline. I love this. I love that it seems to be getting popular to do them this way again. I'm all about that. I love stories, as we know.
