So many capital letters. Okay, friends. This is his first release since leaving Pledis. I’m about ready to scold him for the song lengths because what do you mean, there are two whole songs that are less than two-and-a-half minutes? Tsk. I use the term “two whole songs” loosely here. But I am, as always, excited to hear what he’s going to give us. I really want to like this one, as I do with most songs, but since he’s one of my NU’EST boys and the only one actually active right now, that want is a little bit more pressing.
Welp. That’s not for me. It’s a very strong EDM, which isn’t necessarily a problem in and of itself, but it’s overpowering. It’s got a really good beat and this would be a great workout song. Considering how much he works out, that also tracks. It’s also one of those songs that Spotify is likely going to be recommending for my Daylist when I’ve been spending too much time listening to songs that apparently have a high BPM. Which is surprisingly often apparently. Still, this may need to be a pass from me. That’s a little bit too much going on.
Baekho, I love you and I love your voice. You have an excellent voice. I know that. You know that. Most people who have heard you know that. I’d like to hear your voice without all of that going on. I’d also like to be able to hear intelligible words, even if I don’t understand them. I don’t feel as though those are unreasonable expectations,
I feel bad because as the title track, I should listen to it more, but on the other hand, I don’t want to listen to music I don’t enjoy. I don’t care who it’s by. So, I’ll stick to the b-sides, both of which are quite nice.
He went with an action movie for the music video. That’s really appropriate for the kind of music this is. It’s a good match. I just realized what song this reminds me of: Shake It Off by Mingyu. But apart from that, I am getting the weirdest sense of deja vu while watching this music video. Flashing lights warning, and he decided to give in to his apparent shirt allergy, which, if I looked like that, I’d also develop a shirt allergy. Ah. That’s why I’ve got deja vu. He already released the music video months ago and I didn’t want to review the song because I didn’t like it. That’s right. Oh, well.
