Their debut was one of the few songs I actually covered during the summer months because I was so excited that Hakseong was getting to debut, the first North Korean idol to debut in a South Korean kpop group. I was rooting for him so hard on MAKEMATE1. And there's only one member of the group who wasn't on a survival show. Very curious to see what this one is going to be like.
That guitar gives me life. Oh, hello, you interesting beauty of an instrumental track. I wish I were kidding, but there are like three or four separate songs going on in less than three minutes. It's a bit cluttered, but honestly at no point could I predict where the song was going. It started off feeling like a standard, ball game instrumental track, which would have been good enough, but then it just kept switching up. This entire thing is just delightful. And I absolutely love that we get school bell rings. Three of them.
This is a fantastic song. I can't even be upset about the amount of rapping because it just works so well. I don't know how this song manages to sound as cohesive as it does but I'm both intrigued and delighted by this. I also have some questions, so I'm not going to spend as much time here as I probably normally would, because I want to move on to the music video. You're going to see this one show up in my end of the month post though. Because I love this.
I love it when music videos do fun things, like switch from full screen to wide screen. Though, to be fair, this is a performance video more than it is a music video, so we get a great look at the choreography. But even with that, again, it went from full screen to wide screen, which is not something I was expecting. It's a very surprising song across the board.
