That is a lot of capital letters up there. Anyway, I'm always pleased when I think of this group because they are young but also a decent age to debut. No one was fourteen and almost all of them were already adults. With survival shows like this, you can get kind of a mixed bag. But, I do look forward to them having comebacks because of it. I'm also even happier that they got a good break (hopefully). They needed it. BeLift can be a bit of a problem for both of their groups in that respect. Now, if only we could get HYBE to let them have a song that's three minutes long, that would be great.
Okay, I'm going to be honest. I recently restarted FFX and that also means that I've got the soundtrack in my head. So is it a surprise that I'm immediately reminded of Prelude from the very beginning? No. The warbling and other various sound effects do a good job of adding some really good depth to the beat that would have been really easily overpowering for the entire rest of the song and keep it from being too predictable, which would have been incredibly simple to do with a runtime of barely more than two minutes.
You know what the melody kind of reminds me of? Fortunate Change by Joshua (Seventeen). The effort it took not to go for the meme. This isn't the kind of song I normally prefer to listen to because it feels too smooth, but as much as I like a statement piece, I don't know that this is one. Lyrically, yes. I'm taking this as a shift in concept for the group, but this isn't something that is catching my attention. Pretty? Yes. Smooth? Yes. Very relaxing? Also, yes. It's a lovely song that does very little for me personally. It just kind of is, slipping through water like an oiled up dolphin leaving no ripples.
This is a bit of a strange song in general, but that's an odd music video. I really want to love it. Historically, I adore weird music videos, and even when I'm a bit more ambivalent about songs, music videos tend to redeem them. I'm not entirely sure why this one didn't. I'm a little frustrated by this turn of events. Still, they look very nice and there is a bit of a storyline to it. It's just...fine?
