My boys! These guys are fabulously impressive, and I need everyone to know that. Also, I need everyone to know that Wyatt is amazing, and although I haven’t officially chosen a favorite yet, he’s a candidate for that. Just so we’re all clear on where I stand. Also, Bye My Monster remains one of my favorite songs by them. It’s stunning. The entire album is incredible, but this one specifically? Be still my soul. That entire album got added to so many of my playlists. It needs so much love and the music video is absolutely beautiful.
The noise I made at the start of this song. Funk music is fun. Generally speaking, I love the energy we get from the genre and how much it demands that you move with the songs. This one also has something in the ballpark of science fiction warbling, but without being fully there. Normally, I’d be wanting the song to commit to the sound, but it’s a little bit too realistic fiction for it to fit well as a main flavor note. As an accent, though, it works really well.
I’m curious about the choreography for this song, because there’s a wide range in texture for the song. The vocalists spend a lot of time in high notes and the rappers are very low and grounded. That makes for a good range to listen to, but I do worry about vocal stability in live performances, you know? Hopefully though I’m worrying needlessly. Still fun. Still enjoyable. Good to listen to.
I JUST FOUND OUT THEY DID A KILLING VOICE. So I know what I'm going to be doing after work today.
Okay, so this is definitely more of a performance video, but the choreography is fun to fit the rest of the song. I do have to give a shout-out to their visuals, though. Especially Wyatt because, well, that's really nice.
