You know what I miss most about K-Pop groups? Official fandom colors. Seventeen with their rose quartz and serenity. SHINee with their Pearl Aqua. NU'EST with bright pink and deep teal. (I'm expecting TWS to get fandom colors as well, judging by Pledis's past boy groups and they are ostensibly still independently functioning...). I also love it when we get as specific as a Pantone color, which WEi has three of: 297C, 281C, and 7679C. I got on to check ages just to make sure. I figured, because of the 2020 debut, but that just decreases the odds, you know?
Oh, this is a pretty song. I've heard a few similar songs recently that are a bit more energetic vocally, because with the combination of the acoustic guitar and the percussion that could be on the calmer side of instrumentals, it's actually pretty versatile. We got the calm song this time though, which delights me. I love that acoustic guitar though. We also get brief little science fiction warbles from the synth, which delights me as well.
We need more songs that are just hugs. Full stop. Declarative songs of the more aggressive flavor have their place, certainly, but a title track that's just a hug? We desperately need that. Everyone is singing. The brief little rap-like section is soft and melodic. We don't get any of the big vocals from any of them, which does disappoint me, but I can hear vibrato occasionally softly ripple at the end of some of the longer-held notes. This is so pretty and it's so satisfying.
(Y'all, there's a dance practice!!!)
I'm loving the symbolism going on here. It's a beautiful, beautiful music video. The choreography is beautiful. Across the board, this is just amazing.
