I've never heard of this fellow before (I did look him up briefly to see if he was a single person or a group), but I'm going to do this review because I might as well. There's something kind of funny about him. So he was born in Busan on the same day as Changbin, and he has a ferret and a Maltese. And all I could think was "Is he actually the physical embodiment of ATEEZ and Stray Kids?" He even debuted the same year as them. So, obviously, I had to check out this song. I hope I like it. I really hope I like it. And I would be miffed about the runtime, but the title track is the longest and just under three minutes, so it's fine.
I'm really enjoying the rock here. The electric guitar comes through strongly to guide the rest of the song while the drums keep it steady, which is exactly how rock songs should function. There isn't a ton of variation, but it does have moments where it softens quite a lot. We also get brief additions of audiene participation snapping, which isn't something I hear a lot of. I used to hear it quite often, though not too much recently, which is a disappointment. Still, this has a lot of good bits to it.
Listen to the rapper rasp. Oh, that's absolutely delicious. He's got a fabulous voice that I'm delighted to get to know, you know? Honestly, this whole thing is exactly in my wheelhouse, and I know he's a rapper, but this is such a great example of gorgeous rock, without any rap which is a surprise, that if the one wasn't his obvious love, he'd have made a great rock band leadman.
What did I literally just say about him in a rock band? I swear I didn't watch this music video until I got to this spot, but this is a really cute music video. It's got basically all of the elements that I want to see in a music video, which makes it really enjoyable. I like this one.
