Y'all, I have been waiting for this. The man, the myth, the legend: Seo Eunkwang!!! *airhorn noises*

I'm hyping him up now because there's a strong possibility that the song may make me weep because that's what his voice does when he decides to go full emotion and ballad. Now, I don't know what kind of song this will be yet, as I'm typing this up before I listen to the song, but it doesn't matter because this man has one of the most incredible voices and he's got a pretty consistent style. Also, I think this is his first full album, so congrats to him on that!

He gave us a hug. Actually he gave us a ballad that feels like bottled grief and catharsis, so I have a feeling the lyrics are going to hurt me. This is a very simple instrumental with few instruments and a beautiful swell at the chorus where it goes orchestral. The addition of the electric guitar at the end is perfect for the climactic finish. This is a beautiful, well-crafted instrumental that has its own story and supports the story being told by the vocals and the lyrics. I assume.

But I trust Eunkwang's skill with emoting while singing, so that's why I'm comfortable making that assumption. His voice is razor sharp with his precision, as expected of him. I want to take a moment to talk about his vibrato, which if you've already listened to the song, you'll know I was going to mention it. He has simultaneously unleashed and harnessed his vibrato to powerful effect. It's there. It's impossible to ignore. but instead of letting it go to just ripple through his voice with the entirety of the song, there are spots where I would expect to hear vibrato normally but instead he holds it and cuts off the note. He's got spots where his voice floats delicately and then spots where he punches. This is a master at his craft, and the fact that he's still taking voice lessons to get better and be more versatile tells me how seriously he takes this. You don't understand how much I want to hear this with my own to ear holes.

감사합니다 은광씨. I love this man. He gave us English subtitles with the music video. And...spoilers, but I'm currently crying so I don't really care, the first line of the song is "I want to fly" and the last shot of the music video is him with wings. I don't know if this is a metaphor for death, but this is simple and beautiful and a hug to the inner child specifically.
