Song Review:: HxW (Seventeen): BEAM- Stupid Idiot

 I know this isn't technically a title track, and I know it's also been months, but I've been missing them a lot lately. Fun fact, I have two D&D groups, and the one I'm in as a player, my character last campaign was a druid who was also a spy (I kind of based her off of Jeonghan). She became best friends with the tiefling barbarian in the party, who accidentally became a spy, and no one wanted the two of them to be alone together because quite by accident, things would happen. Our DM actually said it was like the last two braincells fighting for second place when they were together, which is funny because neither of them were stupid characters on their own or with the whole group. Thus, I dubbed this our theme song. Every time something happened, again, by complete accident (accidentally creating a super species of vampire remains a favorite highlight because let's be real), the barbarian's player and I would do the penguin waddle from this choreography. Ah, good times. Also, this has been sitting in my drafts since March 13th, and I'm trying to clear that out a little. 

It's only two-and-a-half minutes, and it's such a club sound that normally I wouldn't be into it, you know? You know. I've been pretty vocal about this. Yet here we are. It has a strong beat that remains consistent through almost the whole song, but that drop? It's a favorite moment in the song, as is what might be a change in time signature immediately afterwards. I'm not sure if that's what it is, but the notational beat there goes a little weird. And I just have to compliment Woozi and/or Bumzu (not sure who's responsible for it), but it leads into the last "like an idiot" perfectly. 

This is a complete nonsense song and we need more of them. This is the same genre of nonsense song as Wife and Spaghetti, (both songs, I love, by the way) just less female focused. But the vibes here are immaculate. The line "I go stupid dummy in the club like an idiot" is so dumb, but that's the point and you just can't help but agree with it, even if clubs in general are not somewhere you frequent. 

I love this silly little video to pieces. First of all, it really feels like it was filmed on a phone. Second of all, it's ridiculous and I love it. Third of all, this is best friend goals. It doesn't matter if we're acting like idiots as long as we're together and having fun. The only downside to it is we only get a hint of the penguin waddle.
