Well, we're on our second subunit from this group, and now I have to double check ages again. I could listen to the first subunit all I wanted to, and they had some songs I liked, but I cannot listen to this one because that maknae is fifteen, which means Underage Protocol. He's also already a big boy and over 6', so hopefully the company can keep him fed while he finishes growing as he should. I find it both hilarious and adorable when the maknae is the tallest/biggest member of any given group. I thought that this would be the next eight members on their own, but apparently this subunit is the next eight plus the original seven, and it's unfortunate about the kid who was supposed to debut with the original eight.

It's got a good beat with some fancy keyboard work going on, which is a good sound for the song. I'm also a big fan of the shift into a very heavy dance break that makes me excited about what the choreography is going to look like there. It could be a lot more high-octane, and I'm grateful that it isn't because it doesn't really slow down or rest.

It's a very hip-hop feeling rhythm to the song, with the rapping broken up by the vocals. However, it also needs to be said that I'm a huge fan of how much layering goes on in this song. We've got vocals on rap, we've got vocals on vocals, we've got the very fun almost call-and-response between the vocals and the rapping. I don't know that I'd necessarily put this into a lot of my playlists, but if it pops up because I've been silly and not put something on repeat, I'd likely listen to it then without skipping it. Unless the thing I'm listening to is something that I really want to listen to. But, that also tells me that if I was able to actually listen to the song on repeat like I normally do for these as a stress test for longevity, there's a pretty decent chance that I'd probably end up liking it.

You know what I really appreciate about their company? They include who is singing in the subtitles. Especially for a group of this size, that's invaluable, so thank you, company, even if you did debut a fifteen-year-old. The music video is largely a vibes and visuals, almost more of a performance video with the amount of choreography we get to see, but the vibes are good. And I'm going to give a specific shout-out to the line "We've come a long way, but we still have far to go" or something. That acknowledgement gives them so much credit as a group. The list of songwriters is so long and distinguished that I couldn't tell you if there's a possibility that one of the members came up with it, but either way, it looks good on the group. (I'll also say that EL CAPITXN was one of the composers for this song, so BTS fans should take an interest).
