There is a song called "Zombie" in this mini album. I hope that this one gets a music video that is appropriately spooky to add it to my Halloween playlist because that's really all I want in life. Anyway, I kind of love this band and even though I'm a little bit behind on my reviews for the month, I want to make sure I hit this one because they need the love and attention. They're a pretty solid band.
That's a strong opening for the song, and the instrumental as a whole takes advantage of a stereo audio system, because I can hear it in the instrumental moving from right to left. The whistle, for instance, sounds like it's coming through mostly on the right channel. This song is for the "noise music" lovers out there, where it's not fully intense but there's enough happening that it's a little bit much for me. But that guitar gets such a sick solo right there at the end.
There's something that's going on with the vocals where there's a very specific effect applied to them that makes them a little tinny in places. But we also have some good harmonizing that's very clear. And we've got some very nice vibrato as well scattered throughout the song, which is lovely to hear. The belt is cut off right before it could have been excellent. You know, this might also make for a really good workout song if you're in the market for one of those.
Lots of flashing lights in this music video, just so everyone knows. But we do get some delightful comic book style animations and a lot of wild chaos. Signs falling apart, the band members rolling around on the ground. In other words, this thing is wildly dramatic. And I love it.
