Song Review:: Young Posse: we don't go to bed tonight- we don't go to bed tonight

  • Release date: 2026 April 07
  • Album tracklist: we don't go to bed tonight, drum don't go to bed tonight, bass don't go to bed tonight, synth don't go to bed tonight, yps acapella don't go to bed tonight
  • Album runtime: 15 minutes

Y'all, I'm slightly baffled by this single (they're not the same length either), but I might take a look at the a cappella version for the vocals and if they match the actual track, I might listen to that one for the vocals instead of the title track, just to focus on them better. Wow, I haven't actually covered one of their songs since 2024. Whoops. They're also majorly on Underage Protocol because the maknae was thirteen at debut, which is so far from okay, and if I find a song by them I like, I can't listen to it until next year on Guy Fawkes day. Or also the day that Rapture from Bioshock was founded. It's the same day.

Ooh, I love the use of the stereo audio system here. Wow, it's shutting off my brain a little bit. That's nice. I think that this would be classified as noise music, but this is some heavy EDM music that I think would really do well for a boss fight of the Devil May Cry or Bayonetta variety. This also would do pretty well for a Beat Saber level. You know?

The stylistically applied autotune is strong here, but not so strong that I can't tell words are being spoken for the most part, which is good. It's kind of the minimum of what I want. I've kind of been avoiding doing their songs because I'm not super big on the rapping and I'm pretty sure this is a hip-hop group. I think they're good rappers though? They've got a decent rhythm, but if you really like this song, I'm not going to naysay and look at you askance.

That bubble gum tastes like fruity chalk. I just want you all to know that. There's also something weird about the music video, and I'm not quite sure what it is. I mean, it's weird. But I like weird and there's something that isn't the good weird about this. It's also good weird and I really do like that about it. But I do like how we have the credits for the music video. I like that, so that confirms the weird thing is not the thing I was worried about. Hopefully. And I love the ahjusshi listening to what is likely the equivalent of American Golden Oldies.
