Song Review:: Big Ocean: Make It Up To You

 I get so happy every single time that they release something, and it looks like we're going back to our debut strategy of singles, then bundling into a mini album. At least, I hope that's what the plan is. It's a good plan for now. 

Ballad! Almost a ballad! Okay. I'm calm about this. That was a nice little fake-out they gave us, and I'd be more upset about it, but the song is comfortingly solid in a way that I enjoy a lot. There's nothing particularly grating about the song because the drums never quite go fully into skittering beat territory, though they are in the vicinity without committing. It's amazing the difference in a song when you change the instrumental. 

This is such a cute song. It's an apology, yeah. But it's very cute and I think they're speaking French at one point. I'll be checking the lyrics later to confirm that. But there's a decent range in tone, helped by the sharpness of the rapping, and a range in the notes. I like this. It's just silly and playful enough that it's the kind of thing that might work on me, unless I'm mad as a wet hen. Look, if you're going to apologize in three different languages, or more since I'm running on the assumption that I am hearing French correctly and if that one popped up, then others probably did too, that would work. It would remind me of when I'm trying to be cute and say goodbye in as many languages as I can say that in. 

Look at how pooky they are. Also, that is French, and I think there are two more languages there, which is fantastic. They clearly filmed this while they were on tour, and I love that for them. And ending it with them running to the ocean while calling for Pado, their fandom name? Which means "wave", as in ocean waves? Adorable.

There are a couple of track names on this album that I'm definitely interested in, and so I'll be listening to the whole thing after I'm done with this. "So" is apparently my word for today. This song would be very easy to turn into an acoustic version. I mean, we are talking laughably easy. I haven't heard a song where I could hear the non-existent acoustic version this strongly. Music Show Wins:: Week of 04/22 - 04/28

  The BigHit domination continues, with the one to follow BTS being their very own little brothers. It feels a bit like they were passing on the torch, which makes me smile. There was also a Grand Slam (still have not looked that up and no one is correcting me so we're assuming that I'm correct) this week, so congrats! Surprise! We got three extra stages this time: two from Show Champion and one from Show! Music Core . Obviously because TXT won, I had to add on an ALL'N performance (please refer to last week's wins if you're unfamiliar with their adorable meet-cute in the elevator). And interestingly, that performance has a surprisingly high number of views for a freshly debuted soloist not in a decently sized company or from a group, more so than some of the other stages I shared. Yes, because Episode  has been getting wins on music shows! Yay! I'm slowly getting my backlog worked on, and I wanted to do this one. However, I'm deeply disappointed by the runtime. I mean, look at that. But this is Kang Daniel, and I've come to realize how good his voice is.  There's something very old about the instrumental track. I can't decide if it's the plink of the high notes on the piano or if it's from the slightly staticky overlay to most of the song, or maybe it's both, as both of those elements are found in music from the thirties. Although, to be fair, the one isn't necessarily on purpose but rather from the degradation of the recordings. The rest of the instrumentals aren't from the thirties. After the mourning period is finished, I'll update this if one is released. BTOB continues their new trend of releasing a single a month, which I believe will happen for at least the next little bit until they can get their next album out. I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that. But ending the year with the Healers of K-Pop is a good way to end it anyway, so even if they don't continue it through January, I'm okay with this for the presents they gave us already. As a side note, I was deeply amused by James's valid crash out over the new-and-false version of the alphabet song. We didn't need a new version. I don't know what role James takes in the group, not a clue, but I have a feeling that this may take up some of their next album, HYBE permitting.  And here we are with the last of the posts for the randomness of April. Over six thousand songs, and once again, the Roulette Wheel picks a song I love a lot. Every time it turns up in my playlist, I go "Wow, I love this song. Which one is this?" And then go "Why didn't I recognize it?" I'm almost positive that that particular problem will be fixed after I write this post, which would be nice. But right now, it feels like I'm discovering it every time I listen to it, and I love it each time. So, if this is your first time listening to this, that's my recommendation right up front. I love it so much I fall in love with it again each time I hear it. ASTRO debuted as a six-member group under Fantagio Entertainment in 2016, which means that their tenth anniversary was this year. Song Review:: Catch the Young: Dream It- Dream It

Album runtime: 14 minutes I love them because a couple of days after they debuted, I found them at Evermore Entertainment with JR. If there is any kind of a connection to NU'EST, I'm automatically going to emotionally bond. That's just how it is. Plus, I really  love Youth!! . I think it's a great song. Not as much as I love The Legend , but then I think that  song is practically perfect. So. That opening is a little weird. The chords and instrumentation make it a little 1980s, which is fine because they really have this whole retro vibe going on and have since debut.
