Oof, that's a long song. Excellent. This was apparently the Yeosu World Island Expo Theme Song, but it wasn't actually officially released until just now. I think.
The very start of the instrumental reminds me of one of the opening themes for Seven Deadly Sins, and then it becomes a lot more cheerful than I was expecting. And it sounds like there may be a little bit of organ work going on, or at least the synthesizer or the keyboard has been made to sound like an organ. We've got chimes. We've got a very prominent guitar that takes the dominant position for the aural landscape with the drums at a very close second. But this is very cheerful, and I'm happy we got the instrumental only track because then we can just hang out on it for almost four minutes. Bless the songwriters.
I think my favorite thing about his voice is the fact that I don't think he could hide his vibrato if he tried. If the note is held longer than a quarter note, the vibrato is out. And there are a couple of quarters notes in there that still have a faint ripple of a vibrato to them. I'm also hearing at least one voice that is not Hongki, but I don't know the band well enough to begin to make a guess on who it is. Or who they are. I'm also super pleased about the fact that the lyrics are fully in Korean. Very pretty. And everyone has vibrato coming out of their ears.
Good news: There is a behind the scenes recording video, so I know, and more importantly y'all know, that Hongki did actually record this.
Bad news: the "music video" is AI generated.
I was also having a really hard time finding this song in the respective profiles on several different streaming platforms, but typing in the name of the song usually just gave it to me. So there's that.
