Hearts2Hearts is one of those groups that have to be on Underage Protocol because the maknae was too young at debut, so I can't listen for another two years. But, that's fine. Also, congrats on the win now that I'm super late, you know? But I am happy about the fact that it's over three minutes.
A mild instrumental without it being a weak one. The beat is good, even if it lacks the attitude of the lyrics. There feels like there's a ceiling holding the instrumental from getting any louder or exciting, which isn't necessarily a problem, but the song isn't feisty enough to warrant the ceiling being in the mid-range for both energy and complexity like it is.
The sing-songy vocals is an irritating trend, but recently I've been well-fed enough on bigger vocals that I'm able to better tolerate it here. I would have liked it if the song had waited a little bit before that style came in to help cushion it a little better, especially with the modded voice at the beginning. That being said, the speaking part closer to the end? First of all, that should 100% be said with your hair in a high ponytail so it can swish satisfyingly. Second, that reminds me of Britney Spears, which instantly makes me enjoy this more.
They're so adorable, looking as cute as they are and saying things like "You can't make me act right." Which is fine. Umm, but I'm looking at the description on Melon for this song, and I'm not sure that I've ever met any tomboys who, well, wear skirts, so I'm having quite a big disconnect between how this is described and the reality of my experiences. Barring that, there's definitely a storyline going on, so that's a plus from me, and there is a particular vibe to them that reminds me a bit of Girls' Generation. Although you know a group they could have borrowed some inspiration for with the whole "tomboy" thing? f(x).
