I've seen some clips from their stage performances for this song, mostly the endings, but this is also INFINITE. I have high expectations for the group. Second gen powerhouse that debuted at the tail end when there was a sudden uptick in the number of groups debuting in a year, they've survived a lot and continue to thrive. And also, on principle, it's good and healthy for the industry to keep the older idols going rather than disbanding or retiring them because they aren't young and novel any more. You'll remember that I loved Sad Loop when it was released last year. Well, let's hope that they can do it again. Also, keep in mind that that run time includes a track that's only a minute long. One of the songs (Umbrella) is almost five minutes long. Glorious. This is what I like to see.
And there's an instrumental track so I get to just hang out in that for the duration of this song. So that's fun. We're in for a mellow funky time with this song, smooth as a cappuccino. I've been hearing this kind of sound a lot, especially from the boy groups, and am looking forward to when the trend moves away. I'm intrigued about the song though, because with a song titled "Dangerous", I'd expect something a little more angsty or bassy or prickly instead of smooth and easy.
Annoyingly, once some time passes, I'm probably really going to like it. The way they sing and rap during this song sounds a lot like BTOB in places, so I think I'm under legal requirement to like this song, but I don't think it's going to be right now. In other news, what we have going on vocally matches exactly the tone of the instrumentals, so it's an incredibly cohesive song in that regard. Absolutely gorgeous. Once more, this is a cappuccino kind of song.
They dropped a performance video. Love that. Second gen idol flex. I think it's fascinating looking at the focus of the different generations, and while many second gen idols are known more for their vocal skills, it's nice to see them flex dancing as well.
So I love the concept of this being at a photoshoot or a music video filming, or perhaps a regular video filming. It's a little bit meta, but I like meta. There's actually a great balance between the choreography and the storyline, with acting from the members as well as the characters they are playing.
