Here's why I'm worried about this group. Hi, welcome. I'm picking up this conversation from my ramblings at the beginning of the review I did of Key's new song, Hunter, if you need context. They're the younger sisters of tripleS, which wouldn't be a concern in and of itself, except tripleS has a history of debuting the fourteen-year-olds. Guess how happy I am about this. But, before I work myself up too much, because I apparently have three of these songs to do (overachieving company...), let's take a look at the ages so far. Oh, and the name is pronounced like the English word "identity". Okay, so it looks like we're starting off with three subunits, one member is on hiatus while the facts are received about an ongoing something (which, despite the debuting fourteen-year-olds thing, instantly makes me like the company a little bit better, at least they're not just yeeting him out of the group on nothing but rumor...cough...), and the youngest one is sixteen and has been for a whole month. Okay! This subunit and album I can listen to! I really hope whatever the allegations are are proven false and whoever the member is can debut with the next subunit. However. There isn't a single song that is three minutes long. One of them is a minute long. At least the debut song is the longest one of the bunch. Small consolation here.

The instrumental, with some minor variations that don't really do enough to change the texture of the song, is largely the same through the entire song. The only time we have a proper difference is at the very beginning, and while normally I'd be really annoyed that we never really get anything like it through the rest of the song, the rest of the song is so unrelentingly wall of sound that this is one of those rare instances where I'm not going to even pretend to gripe about it.

This song reminds me so much of Supercalifragilistic by xikers that if they aren't the same genre, these are at minimum cousin songs. There's one part of the, I think it's the chorus, where the melody is the exact same (I'm not yelling plagiarism, to be clear) and my brain is expecting there to be more of the song I'm more familiar with. There's not a lot in terms of singing, with the majority of the song going to the sing-songy speaking that's not quite rap. There are some sections with singing, but they're not very bold or powerful, which is what this kind of instrumental kind of requires. Do you know how cool this song could have been if we'd had some harmonizing belts during the rapping or the speaking? It would have been so cool and we would have gotten a big display of vocal prowess, something fifth gen is sorely lacking, even though I'm almost positive that they all can sing like their predecessors.

Another rookie boy group with a slice of life music video. I'm not complaining. I love that for them, actually. Usually, it's the girl groups that get one. It's also a really good strategy so you can get the vibe of the group at debut. It's part slice of life and part performance video. Also, shout out to the company for putting who is singing what line in the subtitles. I really appreciate that. That's a nice touch.
