Okay, everyone. I managed to dodge some spoilers when I did my morning check on Threads. While the Stays were freaking out a little bit, the Atinys were kind of like landed fish over San's music video, and the Armys were just happy about the live that happened. Carats are still having a field day over Jeonghan's surprise appearance. It's a good time to enjoy so many groups because I also get to enjoy having so many different fandoms having a really good time for completely separate reasons all at the same time. The Monbebes also made a surprise appearance on my feed recently, which I thought was cute. But I think the cutest posts were the baby Stays going "Wait. Didn't Ceremony just come out? Are they always like this???" Stray Kids don't seem to have comebacks. They just...stay.
Heh. Heheheh.
Anyway.
Oh, I like this one. It's been a hot minute since I've really liked a Stray Kids title track right off the bat. Usually, I have to dig into the b-sides, but this time around, I like this one. It does make me a little worried over how much I'm going to love the b-sides because historically I tend to like b-sides better, but I'm excited for that.
We've got a strong Latin vibe going on with this one, which means we've got something of a melody happening in the instrumental. I know a lot of other people are going to find the heavier instrumentals to have a higher danceability to them, but to me, those are just head boppers. They don't go any further into my body. But the combination of the good beat with the movement of notes makes this so satisfying, especially with the layers of the instruments and the range of depth. This song feels good.
I'm sure Chan didn't write these lyrics either because I cannot have heard what I thought I just heard. I'm mildly surprised by the amount of singing here in this song. They really have such good voices. As a side note, I sent my mother the Puppy Interview and she was surprised by Han's voice, which means he really needs to show it off more. I'm not overly fond of the "do it" repetition, which is likely at least in part due to the fact that the song is so short that it feels like it takes up a lot of airtime, but it's broken up by the vocalizations, so it could be worse. Hopefully the run time isn't indicative of something, but since this is, I think, their first time recently to have such a short song, I'm not alarmed yet. But I've added this to quite a few playlists and this one is going on my end of month wrap-up as one of my favorite songs of the month. I added it to that list on the first listen.
This entire album is a banger. Wow.
This is a really cool music video, as expected. Even when I'm not Super Fan of the song, I usually really like their music videos, which then becomes really beneficial when I do like the song a lot, like in this case. Starting off with the black and white, then switching to color is really giving me Wizard of Oz vibes (the only thing that would have made that stronger is if it had been sepia instead of grayscale). Coming in on the broom? The ravens at the beginning? But then it gets apocalyptic and that is such an intriguing concept. I'm getting story ideas from this. Ooh, I could add it to the second book in the Fallout/Divergent-inspired trilogy I'm writing. Anyway, I've got ideas. This is good. I love it when music videos do this. Love the choreography. The costuming is...very nice. On that note, I need Han to not be in a cowboy hat because he looks a little too good. Yeah. I'm very much invested in this. There's nothing like having a creativity spark.
