Song Review:: Daesung (BIGBANG): HANDO-CHOGUA- HANDO-CHOGUA
- Release date: 2025 December 10
- Album tracklist: HANDO-CHOGUA, One Rose, Better Alone
- Album runtime: 11 minutes
This looks like it's going to be a fun song, because I am not going to lie, the cover art made me laugh a little. He's got such a sunshine smile. I also have no idea what to expect based on the title, but I'm hoping for a good time. It's nice that Daesung is going to drop something for us while they're presumably starting to prep for the big group activities next year. And just look at that runtime. What a beaut.
Trot. He gave us trot. I am not ashamed to say that I've already popped this into the "best releases of 2025" playlist. There's so much character and personality in this instrumental that it's practically brimming with it, with enough moving pieces to make sure that there's never a dull moment when you're listening. It's actually pretty high energy, and the drama makes this one of those songs that if I was still playing tennis competitively would be in my pre-match playlist. If this were to be stuck in my head while I was playing, that would not be the worst thing in the world because of how much energy it's got. It would result in me dancing around between points, but what else is new?
His voice is stunning. The vibrato there has so richly flavored his voice with it so fully unleashed that I just want to melt. I can also see his expression in my head with his opening song, and it's a good time. He's flexing this voice and his control hardcore and I couldn't be happier, but not only do we get this big voice from him, as we should, but we also get some rapping from him. I was not expecting this. I'm not mad about it by any stretch of the definition, but it was just a delightful surprise.
I would just like you to know that the second-hand embarrassment over the beginning had me sitting with my head in my hands for a bit while I composed myself. As a fellow introvert, I wanted to bury myself in the floor. The entire rest of the song I had raised eyebrows and was struggling not to laugh. the fact that it's a frame narrative makes it even better. It's ridiculous, and it does not take itself seriously, which is all the better. It's good when you have peak cringe, and it knows. But, most importantly, Daesung enjoyed himself for this. You can tell. I really hope Sana also enjoyed herself.
Also, I just learned that this phrase means over/exceeding the limit.
