Hi! I'm super late! But I really wanted to do this and December is a great time for this because most groups don't drop too many things in the month of December because of all of the award shows and promotion conflicts and stuff like that, you know? Also, for the record, my instincts were on point for how much I'd love this title track.
The choice to have such an intense intro lead into something that's a lot softer, technically, is an interesting one because it genuinely sounds like they're a band tuning their instruments. But the whole song is "garage rock band". It's actually really fun to hear and quite refreshing for what we've been hearing across the board from K-Pop groups lately. I'm expecting this choreography to go hard though, if the instrumental is like this. It's a lot of guitar and a lot of drums. And, yes, it's something that I am basking in. I absolutely love pop punk. Top five genres for me, and it's so rare to hear it from a K-Pop group. My stubbornness has paid off, and I am well pleased.
So, I've been quite vocal about the fact that I'm not overly fond of shouting, or chanting to a lesser extent, and I'm sure you're expecting me to look at the screaming and hate it. Well, that's unfortunately not the case. I don't know why I like this over that, but I do, and here we are. We've got such a range of vocal styles going on in this song because of it, and I really like that addition. We've got rapping. We've got very pretty singing. And we've got something akin to screaming. And I like that. It's also majorly bothering me because there's a strip of this song that reminds me of another song, and I just spent 20 minutes hunting down that song because I knew what I knew it from but I had to... You know what, you probably don't care. It reminds me of Sugar, We're Goin' Down by Fall Out Boy. There's just a single line that reminds me of it a little. Okay. Rabbit hole fallen down. Anyway. Moving on.
I hope they had a lot of fun with that car even though I'm sure they didn't get to do the doughnuts in it. But while we don't get a whole lot of choreography to the song, we do get a lot of storyline. So, yes. I am happy as a clam.
