Song Review:: ONEWE: Studio We : Recording #4- Ferris wheel {Pre-Release}

  • Release date: 2026 January 14

  • Album tracklist: Ferris wheel

  • Album runtime: 7 minutes

 Well, well, everyone. Hello! The ever so lovely band ONEWE has dropped a new single! I've enjoyed what I've heard from them so far, though they're not one that I've actively sought out to listen bigger chunks of their discography yet. But I am glad that I went digging through upcoming releases, because I found out that this is actually a pre-release!

I love that we get the instrumental for this. The use of the bells makes it sound almost a little Christmassy, but at the same time there's a very festival vibe to that opening. It actually reminds me of when I was little when we lived on the farm, and the neighborhood kids would get to go on sleigh rides because my neighbor two miles down the highway had a gorgeous sleigh his grandfather had made by hand that he'd have his (award-winning) Belgian draft horses pull. So there's a very nostalgic sense to the song for me, but at the same time, there are some gorgeous spots where the guitar sort of kicks up its heels and plays a little in a mature sort of way. I'm excited to hear what's going on in the vocals too.

Ah, yes. Vibrato. Bless. There are also some very interesting spots where the vocals follow the instrumental precisely, which is something I love to hear. There are also multiple spots in the early or middle of the song where we get some surprising harmonization. I would have expected it earlier as part of the climax of the song, but that's not where they're predominately located. This is a very pretty song that remains surprisingly delicate throughout, even when it's a little bit more energetic.

I was talking with my friend about this song and after she took a listen, she said it reminded her of some of the girl groups like Lovelyz and GFRIEND. And I said "That's what I'm reminded of! Thank you!"

There's sort of a wintery fairytale vibe to this song and it's music video. Now, do I tag this as Christmas for this year's Christmas post? You know what? Yes. I will. The vibe is there. Anyway, moving on, it's really cute how they're laid out like the wedges of a ferris wheel. The lyrics are cute. The styling is very pretty. And that ending is soft and wistful in the best way.
