What? I'm actually doing the title track after doing the pre-release in a semi-reasonable timeframe? Am I ill? Because there's no way that I'm actually almost put together like this. I literally haven't been this almost prepped since I first started writing these. A-year-and-a-half ago. Anyway, like I said in the pre-release review, I'm not putting them on Underage Protocol even though three-fourths were underage at debut. I remember hearing something about their debut song being inappropriate for the number of minors, but I didn't listen to it, nor did I review it, so that might be a good thing,
This has a pleasant instrumental. There are no big surprises, no moment of sudden change. Everything changes exactly when and how it should. Reliable, steady. It's got variations to it, don't get me wrong and I appreciate that, but there's isn't a strong vibrancy to it. It's nice. I like this.
I hear vibrato, and I'm very happy about that. It's not a constant, and not all of them have it, but at least one of them does. This song also does a pretty good job of giving them something that shows off ability. Again, we don't have a lot of vibrancy but we do have a few different textures, so I'm not as grumpy as I could be. It's just a pleasant song overall.
This choreography has some really, really cool points to it. Those are some fun details. We also have storyline for the music video. Normally, I'd be a little disappointed by the amount of Millennial Gray going on here, but that boring, sort of gloominess fits really well with the whole concept, so I'm cool with it. I would have liked it better if the whole song wasn't in Millennial Gray and instead we got more vibrancy and color when they were happier because then it would have contributed to meaning rather than just aesthetic, giving more contrast to make the Millennial Gray (and thus the emotion and circumstance tied to it) stand out more, which is such a waste, but it is what it is.
