My band dropped a new mini album! I think these guys may be my favorite so far of the ones I’ve heard, and I probably won’t stop shouting about them, just so everyone is perfectly clear. I have no idea what the difference is between these songs and their apparently original version other than I suspect that these versions are the ones where they redid the songs that got released with all the members. And I have just now realized that I did the pre-release, but not the title track. Whoops.

I love that so many of their songs have such a bright sound to them. We’ve got audience participation snapping following the beautiful piano that reminds me of some of the happier tracks from Final Fantasy X-2, which aren’t a lot of them because Spira is not the happiest place, but it’s also got a bit of the anime opening song. For some reason, this group just has an association in my head with grassy green hills, wind playfully tossing leaves around, and a heroine in a long dress tucking her hair behind her ear while it tries to move into her face because of said wind. The violin is one of those defining points of this band, and it’s used to great effect here. It’s just so pretty and playful, especially when paired with the piano, because those two instruments regularly play off each other throughout this song. And I love how the end of the song is just the drums and vocals. It’s a powerful way to end the song.

I would swear that one point, they say “Oh, Jessica”, which I’m almost positive is not actually what I’m hearing, and that’s fine because I can look up the lyrics once I get back home and on WIFI again after my (3/10 star, one star of which belonged to the food alone) trip this weekend. And what in the choir is that? If you had told me yesterday that I’d be listening to a choir in a K-Pop song like this, well, K-Rock, I wouldn’t have believed you. But you had best believe me when I say that I love this vocalist’s voice. He’s got a sharp power to his voice that makes his vibrato so recognizable, and when he bears down on the end of the song, it makes for such a beautiful way to conclude it.

Hey, remember how back during Wakey Wakey, there was a giant stuffed teddy bear "playing" the drums? They've got their drummer back. Also, what did I say about this being an anime opening theme? I love the blend of animated and live action, sometimes in the same shot. I love this. This is such a comfort song.
