Song Review:: TRENDZ: On My Knees- On My Knees

  • Release date: 2026 July 08
  • Album tracklist: On My Knees, Crime (2026 Remastered), Kart Racer (2026 Remastered)
  • Album runtime: 9 minutes

I find it a little amusing and interesting that the last track on here is one I know I've already done when it was originally released. And you know what? I really hope that the maknae gets to work with ATEEZ like he wants. I'm manifesting that for him. Also, I didn't realize until I was typing this up that I didn't pay attention to the song or the single title. I thought it was "On My Way". That's a very different vibe for the song.

I actually really like the guitar throughout this ong. This is actually a very fun instrumental. One part soft and affectionate, one part bright and energetic, and one part almost sultry (and before anyone rolls their eyes at my inability to do fractions, I said "one part", not "one half". Trust me, if I say "one half" and it ends up being more than one whole, I'm using it to be funny.) The song does a really good job of moving through distinct zones and propelling the song through the high energy of most of the song that when it strips down to some soft background instruments and audience participation snapping, during what I'm pretty sure is the bridge, even with as sudden as that transition is, the momentum carries the song and allows to bridge to be as stripped down as it is before we get the energy injection again.

So fun fact, while I was listening to this, I briefly forgot which group I was listening to. They've got one vocalist who sounds so much like DK from Seventeen and another who sounds like Junhee from A.C.E, both comparisons of which are huge compliments from me. TRENDZ also has a rapper who sounds like Mingyu from Seventeen (we know how I feel about that group and Mingyu seems like he'd give great hugs). It's fascinating and I love this. The chorus reminds me of Treasure by ATEEZ, which, again, is a huge compliment from me as well because I adore that song. On My Knees is strongly solidly vocal  heavy with an excellent range between the very pretty ad-libs and the heavier rapping. Some spots are a bit breathy, but they contribute to the overall texture of the song rather than overwhelm it.

This is such a cute and wholesome music video. It's adorable. And that choreography, what we get to see of it, looks kind of insane. I do wish we had more color to the music video though.
