Wow, are they really already on their third mini album? Goodness, they've been busy bees, haven't they? Not that that's a bad thing. Some overworking during debut and rookie era is definitely preferably to doing very little, because that's how you lose fans instead of gain them. I just feel bad that they keep having releases alongside some big names who have much better odds at getting an all-important win. That being said, I do want them to get a win, and sooner rather than later. It stresses me out a little when groups don't get a win at least once every four comebacks.
Oh, goodness. That's a lot of energy. Man, I'm kind of sad that they have such garbage luck with release dates and who they're up against because once again, I kind of love this. I don't think it's over three minutes long, for the track itself, but I think it's going to be pretty close. Probably around the 2:50 mark? It could be worse, but it is pretty close, so that almost makes me happy anyway, but with the amount of variation and different textures, I am a happy camper. This is a full song. I'd like it more with a dedicated dance break, but you can't have everything. It's an explosion of energy at the start, with points of intense softness scattered throughout. It's gorgeous. I love it. I love this so much.
Is that a vibrato I hear? Wow, I was not expecting to hear that in a fifth gen group like that. You know what? I think I may really like them. I wasn't super sold at debut, but the range that they've exhibited over the last nine months has been rather impressive while remaining in a fairly consistent sound set. We've got some of the more lyrical rapping, little touches of falsetto, and overall, a very solid vocal sound. I think they'd do really well with a rock concept, which this comes close to sound-wise. I'm really pleased about this.
I'm amending the statement I literally just made. This is punk-rock through and through. This is the kind of song you bellow at the top of your lungs on a long drive to find yourself following a break-up. Or that you bellow at the top of your lungs at 3 in the morning because you can't sleep but you just don't want to cry. I love the amount of play and friendship that is being displayed as well, which is always comforting after you get your heart broken. It's fun. It's a little goofy. And while you'd think that there would be a tonal dissonance between the tragedy of the lyrics and the lightheartedness of the music video, the two things just really work together.
